Excellent hotel. Everything we needed - couldn't ask for anything more. Great location: close enough to French Quarter (walking distance), quick access to public transport (street cars), but far enough from the noise. Fantastic views of the river. Very comfortable and spacious rooms; great bedding and amenities. Check-out only at 12pm.

FAQs about hotels in New Orleans

Getting its Rhythm Back

The home of jazz, intriguing New Orleans evokes images of Louis Armstrong, wrought-iron balconies and mouth-watering Cajun cuisine. Louisiana’s largest city, the Big Easy is the beating heart of the Deep South.

Dance down Bourbon Street, where jazz saxophones ring out of traditional bars mixed with more colorful nightlife and entertainment venues. There are several New Orleans hotels near Bourbon Street, spread around the French Quarter with its distinctive Creole architecture.

To the south is Jackson Square, dominated by St. Louis Cathedral. Horses and carts wait patiently by the square, and locals set up their stools and start playing catchy tunes. Just behind is the legendary Mississippi River whose waters are still plied by paddle steamers.

From the river you get great views of the CBD (downtown) skyscrapers and the Louisiana Superdome. Booking.com has several hotels nearby, including some on Canal Street, where streetcars and the famous New Orleans Mardi Gras carnival pass down.

In the northern suburbs is New Orleans City Park, one of the oldest US parks and larger than NYC’s Central Park. Waterways lining it flow into large Lake Pontchartrain bordered by a bayou.

What Guests Said About New Orleans:

8.0

New Orleans is a great vacation destination.

New Orleans is a great vacation destination. There are many things to do for all members of the family. Including many outside of the French Quarter. One of the most popular is the WWII museum. Which you should plan at least an afternoon or more to see. Another fun outing for children and adults alike is a ride on a trolley. You can ride all the way to Audubon Zoo for another afternoons enjoyment. If you choose to stay closer to the French Quarter you might consider a day cruise with children on the Steamboat Natchez or evening cruise for Adults. Be certain to leave time to stroll the French Quarter shops on Royal St or the St Louis Cathedral. You might stop in the Jackson Square park and have your portrait painted or caricature made. If your legs need a rest you can stop by the Cafe' Du' Mon for some "Ben Yay" donuts and Coffee Olay. There's lots more things to do depending upon your interests, cemetery tour, ghost tour, city tour, carriage rides, swamp tour, and restaurants over 800 of them. One of our favorites is G W Fins. There are lots of great choices for places to eat. There is more to New Orleans than Bourbon St and Clubs. Come see for yourself.

We had an amazing time in New Orleans celebrating our anniversary! We stayed at the Hampton Inn in downtown New Orleans, which was perfectly located within walking distance to everything we wanted to do — great restaurants, shopping on Canal Street, Bourbon Street, the WWII Museum, and even the steamboat cruise we took. We stayed for two nights, which was just enough time to fit it all in. There’s so much to see and do that we’re already planning another trip!

New Orleans did not disappoint!

New Orleans did not disappoint! We hit Washington Square, enjoyed a Steamboat Dinner, grabbed snacks from Kay’s Food Mart, and had an incredible meal at Mambo’s — and that’s just a few highlights. The list goes on! We had an absolute blast exploring the city’s energy, food, and music. Honestly, we need a vacation after the vacation — that’s how good it was!

Don’t drink the cocktails on the Natchez, they are lethal.

Don’t drink the cocktails on the Natchez, they are lethal. French quarter not best place to stay if you are looking to sleep at night. It would have been better for me, from a personal point of view, to stay somewhere quieter and just visit the French quarter. The cars and sirens all night keep you awake then the boats on the Mississippi blow their horns from early in the morning, all through the morning it would see. Swamp tour excellent on the big boat, alligators in abundance. Great captain.

Beautiful hotel - the decor and furnishings are very tasteful! We really liked the location of this hotel, it's only a short walk to the French Quarter and that means you don't have to deal with outside crowd noise for the price of a 5 minute stroll. It's also the right side of the FQ to get to the Garden District. The quality of the breakfast was very good indeed. The staff were helpful and friendly when we spoke to them in-person.
