The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and we had excellent TV and Wi-Fi reception. There are a good amount of farms, orchards and wineries to tour in the area, and there is a cute downtown area as well as a riverside public park. For those who like adventure, you can go snow skiing, hiking, and ride ATVs in the area. This is a nice place for a romantic get-away or to just escape to and decompress!

    So pretty!

So pretty! The town is really cute and Sunday Farmers market is a great place to buy local produce in August! Corn, melons, peaches and greens, I got fresh roasted poblano peppers and they are yummy. I got home and made Sour Cream Chicken-poblano Enchiladas. Fidel's is a great place to eat- though you may have to wait. Make sure to get the CORN DIP. The Grand River Summer Concert Series was excellent. We stayed right next door at the Wine Country Inn.

We enjoyed the town. It was small and quaint. We got takeout from A Slice of Life, which we really enjoyed. We ate at 357 Bar & Grill for dinner two nights. The first night was better than the second. The food was good, but the second night their service was down for using credit cards. We ended up using cash instead of waiting longer than we already had. We also ate at Fidel's Mexican Restaurant for lunch and it was very good. Varaison Winery in town was exceptional for a wine tasting. We had Alex West and it was the best wine tasting we ever had. We learned so much and were so entertained. He was better than a lot of stand-up comics we've seen; however, my understanding is he was filling in for someone. The tasting was complementary, which is unheard of now. We ended up buying 6 bottles there. Another winery we enjoyed was Maison le Belle Vie Winery (or something like that). Their flight of wines was $18 for the one we got and we shared that on their patio.

Beautiful spot at the base of a mesa, so the views were wonderful. The town looked really cute, wish we could have seen more! We drove through it fairly quickly, it's only a few blocks, but didn't have time to shop or explore the many wineries. The Wine Country Inn was a great place to stay and we had a lovely dinner there at the restaurant, Caroline's. Much cuter and laid back than staying in Grand Junction.

Palisade is a fun, little town!

Palisade is a fun, little town! Always seems to have something going on. Lots of wineries and a brewery, too! Centrally located to lots of scenic, outdoor destinations such as the Grand Mesa or Colorado National Monument. Could use a few more restaurants for the amount of tourists they get, and the locals could clean up their act more. Many of the houses in town are dumpy and need TLC.
