We had no ability to acquire transportation from the train station , which was closed, to our hotel at midnight. We had a disability scooter , large suitcase and two carry on bags as well as a backpack! There were no Ubers or Taxis available to pick us up and no police around. It was very dark and we were informed by someone picking up another disembarking passenger that it was not safe for us to stay there. She was an angel in disguise and managed to cram all of our stuff and the two of us in her little car and generously took us to our hotel. She said there was no way she could leave us stranded there and it was not safe. It was very frightening.

Jen's diner is wonderful the sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes and eggs were delicious. Best little diner I've ever been to. Service was awesome. Walmart was crazy busy didn't have enough register open or self check outs. Bathrooms were disgusting.

I have been staying at this Inn in Poplar Bluff for over 10 yrs. My tip is usually 16 hours & this is just 6 hrs from home...so I am ready to stop. Many things around, restaurants etc...wonderful little city.
