This is a great place to stay if one wants to explore New York! While it's outside Manhattan, the location and connections can't be better! A safe area, just a block from the nearest subway station (plus two more a little further) to reach anywhere you need in the city. Just to illustrate, less than 20' to MoMA or Times Square or 30' to my conference venue near 103rd Street. There's plenty of local commerce, delis and restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. The room was very quiet (upon a light sleeper's special request!), but generally the hotel is in a calm street and it meant a lot for a good rest before full-day activities in the city. All the staff was kind and helpful and we loved the pleasant and clean scent in the room on arrival. The daily maintenance was perfect. There were amenities like the fridge, microwave, coffee machine and ironing board in the room. Awesome! I loved the large bathroom, with plenty of space for all the toiletries. The buffet breakfast was fine, with a diversity of choices. It's a fantastic location and overall value for money in such an expensive city, and while we didn't ne3d to use that option, one could check out until 5 PM for a small fee. Though there were so many positives, there are still a few things that l hope the hotel can improve in the future. Small changes could be made to become more eco-friendly, like eliminating the plastic cutlery or letting the guest choose whether they wish to have the towels changed daily (which is quite an established practice in European hotels). There were three of us sharing the room, but only one chair, and that's pretty easy to fix. The entrance and the lobby could be improved to match the quality and the appearance of the rooms.

Lovely hotel with free breakfast, pristine rooms and a nice view! The location is quite good, actually. We managed to go to Manhattan within 10-15 minutes using the Subway nearby (1-2 minute walk) and also to JFK airport between 45 to 50 minutes. The staff were amazing and friendly. They have a microwave, plenty of hot drinks options, and a filtered water dispenser at their lobby round the clock, which is quite convenient. For us, this might be the best hotel that we have stayed on if you want affordability and do not might mind travelling publicly.
