This is such a lovely hotel -- it absolutely exceeded my expectations. Things I loved: -- The hotel is new (I heard it opened 6 months ago?) and it shows in how nice and clean the facilities are. I got a beautifully designed, modern room. I originally received a room facing construction and they were happy to switch it to a room with a beautiful view of the city. -- All of the staff was so kind, friendly, and helpful. -- They have an ADORABLE robot butler named Henry! The staff sent him up with a complimentary cookie shaped like the robot itself. He makes cute, R2D2-like noises when he drops off your stuff and asks you how your stay went. This was definitely a highlight of my stay. -- They give you a voucher for a free wine or beer to redeem at the rooftop bar. -- They have a nice cafe next to the lobby where they serve Craftsman & Wolves pastries. The design is so airy and open, and the cafe is very quiet and serene. -- Great location, right next to Oracle Park, only 15 min drive to SFO. The surrounding area is super safe and within walkable distance of lots of nice restaurants and cafes.

The location is a little gem in the city. You feel like you're in the English countryside. Amazing location next to super cute shops, parks, and transport (all in walking distance) and the staff makes you feel like you're at home. A delightful breakfast that you can enjoy and sip your coffee in the garden.

The staff at this hotel truly went above and beyond. Each of them provided a warm welcome and were helpful and attentive to every question or request ("i'd like a sunny room"; "I left my key in my room"; etc.). The rooms were also comfy and clean and I liked the refillable water bottles.

FAQs about hotels in San Francisco

An Icon of Liberalism

Home to one of America’s icons – the Golden Gate Bridge – San Francisco is a liberal city where life is very much for the living.

Surrounded by water on 3 sides, the city's spread over steep hills that make for great photo ops. And none better than the zig-zag Lombard Street, seen in many a film. Even more famous are San Fran's iconic trolleys climbing the hills – a little touristy, but still worth a ride.

In the middle of the bay, Alcatraz island is known for the notorious criminals once imprisoned there. Even if you don’t go inside, the views of the bridge and city are unparalleled.

Nowhere is life in San Francisco more laid-back than on the Pacific beaches. Rent a bike and head out there, passing through the huge Golden Gate Park, before returning to sample some fresh seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf. Don't miss the clam chowder served in bread bowls! Chinatown also has a great selection of mid-range restaurants.

As you fly into San Francisco Airport, look out for the exclusive homes lining the Bay Area. Whether you want a more independent stay in apartments, luxury San Francisco hotels or cheap hostels, Booking.com has something for everyone. Be careful though – you might just leave your heart here!

I went to San Francisco when I was 16 years old and was really scared by it and hated it. After talking to many many people over the years who told me it was a fantastic fantastic city. I thought I'd go back now. I'm a little older and see what it was like and I must say I'm not too sure what my brain was thinking about when I was younger because I found everyone was indeed correct. The city is fantastic so many cool areas to go and visit from pier 39 to the hippie area. Golden Gate Park is fantastic too. I enjoyed the food and the entertainment in short if someone asked me to move there, I would leave my wife and my cat and go there immediately.

So many things to do and see.

So many things to do and see. Lot's of opportunity to experience many diverse cultural things. You can't go wrong with any of the food and sights. From Pier 39, Coit Tower, to the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean the city was and at how friendly everyone was and so willing to assist tourists. We accidently went to Oakland. Very said and very scary. Definitely stay away from there.

Beautiful city and with lots to see and do.

Beautiful city and with lots to see and do. At least, you should stay 4 days and organize what you will do every day. Get a clipper card to move around the city with public transportation, which is organized and clean. My favorite places: Golden Gate Bridge, The Alcatraz tour, The cable car ride, The painted Ladies, Chinatown, The Golden Gate Park, Building Ferry Pier.

I really liked the complementary coffee and lounge area. As for the room, it was indeed very small. I didn’t mind that much as I was staying outside the hotel for the whole day but the space would be too small if you’d like to spend more time there. Also the location was not the best - on one hand in the downtown, close to train station and many attractions, but on the other just in the middle of the biggest homeless camps in San Francisco. You need to move through them to get to entrance, almost literally:(

As you enter the staff are so welcoming. The location is great for a base, close to union square, chinatown and trams to get around .but a few roads away so not so hectic which is nice.the rooms were a good size with modern decor and really comfy beds. Had everything you needed amenity wise. Would definitely recommend it as a base for san francisco. There is a handy 7/11 store across the road and a nice American diner a few doors down . And a cool bar in the hotel itself. Great choice!

Well-located just around the corner from Union Square and five minutes from the Chinatown area of San Francisco. We enjoyed strolling down to the harbour area (easy once you clear the hill, or take a detour across a couple of blocks where the gradient is less steep!) and this could be done in 35-45 minutes. The service was also very good.
