We stayed in Wausau for the monster truck shows. Not only was our stay at Rib Mountain wonderful, we ate lunch at La Taqueria. Which was a short walk across from Marathon County Park. Surprisingly active little place.
Surprisingly active little place. I thought it might be a sleepy, homogenous pocket in the middle of nowhere but there's lots of walking trails, biking, and kayaking; that weekend there was even a big multicultural festival in the city center. Loved the waffles, chicken and greens for breakfast at the Filling Station. Very reasonably priced. The Redeye Brewing Company is a must stop for a "brewski" and dinner. The Tine and Cellar is a good choice for cocktails and dinner or a weekend breakfast.Guest review byChuckUnited States - 10.0

Nice town, downtown is welcoming, yummy restaurants. The Filling Station had a great brunch buffet. Downtown had a chalk fest. Mularkeys had amazing Bloody Mary’s. We also attended the balloon fest which was lots of fun.Guest review byEileen
