Wetumpka is a neat little city with a lot of history for the area. There is also an excellent casino called Cross Winds right in the heart of Wetumpka that is beautiful. Wetumpka, Ala., is home of one of only 200 world-recognized impact craters, due to an astrobleme, or “star wound,” known to hit the area over 80 million years ago, resulting in beautiful green hills that touch the rim of its winding Coosa River.

We loved being so close to the park.

We loved being so close to the park. After eating dinner we were able to walk to the park and enjoy the water and weather. Then we walked back to the hotel and was able to grab ice cream for our evening snack. Great little town. Wonderful shops to visit. Everyone was so friendly. We ate at Grumpy Hot Dog and Coach's Cortner.
