Such a beautiful hotel. Every area is calm and relaxing. We had a rainy afternoon and it was lovely to sit in the undercover area of the rooftop bar watching the rain. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and they keep the place spotlessly clean.

Absolutely the best budged hotel I stayed in Vietnam on 9 different trips. The rooms are super new, nice furniture with good bed and amazing light. The bathroom was also perfect and the shower had real hot water. The hotel is right next to the market and the night market with delucious food. Most important, the owner and his family are so super nice. He gave me a lot of tips beforehand and also took care of my questions. He also organized a shuttle bus to and from the airport which was 50k each way instead of 250k by taxi. I will come back to Con Dao in a few years and will stay here again.

The place might be basic. But the one thing that stands out in this place is the willingness of the owner to help and make sure your stay is great. He does not speak English much, but it's Con Dao where English is almost non-existent. However, when you text him through WhatsApp he is actually very responsive and quite chatty in English. I am impressed with his assistance, he is someone who goes above and beyond, and more.... I had a very unfortunate issue when I was there and, beyond my expectation, he helped me resolve it. It's unfortunate that apparently when I was there I heard Con Dao received way less tourists and a lot of local businesses were struggling. I do hope for the best for him and this place. This place has a lot of potential despite its current state, it's still basic. But considering everything, the owner's hospitality, relatively clean place and comfortable bed, value for money, it's worth it.

This hotel is located in very quiet place and really in 1-2 minutes walk to the Sea. Personnel in hotel are absolutely friendly and hospitality. They've helped us with every request that we asked for. Highly reccomend this place, surely we will come back in Con Dao and definetly will stay in this Hotel. Thanks!

The location is in the center of a small island, surrounded by loads of restaurants, cafes, stores, which are only several hundred meters away, the beach was about 5-10 minutes walking away. The room is perfectly cleaned with enough toiletries, comb, towel, and hair dryer. The staff is really kind and polite, I highly appreciate that they helped us with our luggage. The hotel offers us transportation to and from the airport and the driver was also really nice. Quality/price ratio is extremely high and we would highly recommend this place.

    The price of food are quite expensive compare to other sightseeing places in Vietnam. You should ask before select dishes. However, you can taste food in night market, fresh and cheaper compare to restaurant. Beside go to the beaches, you can visit Con Dao National Park for trekking. However, be sure that you will not be hungry as no food service available :)

    We spent 4 days in Con Dao, which was great .

    We spent 4 days in Con Dao, which was great .Each day we went off ( motorcycle) and looked at the “ things to see” . The prison complexes take a good half a day to look at , as there are about 7 sections,in total .We often spent half a day out n about , each day . Overall Con Dao was beautifulI Its a,45 minute flight out of Saigon . We could of stayed a week there easily

    4-5 days on Con Dao is enough time to enjoy walking trails in the rainforest and check out the beaches as well as enjoy the sunset and a boat trip to one of the smaller islands - also some great restaurants in town - Madame Ha - gets my vote as best restaurant 2025 . I have stayed here for 2 weeks in the past during the month of November - fantastic weather - if windy or rainy perhaps 3-4 days . I would NOT go all the way over there - by ferry / plane for only 2 days

    Had Con Dao on my bucket list and was not disappointed.

    Had Con Dao on my bucket list and was not disappointed. In fact it would be one of my favourite places to visit in Vietnam. It is a compact island with some of the best engineered roads you will find, serving tourists and a small local population around 10 000 people, making riding a hired scooter a safe and efficient way to travel. A large area is designated National Park, embracing both land and sea reserves. Large tract of bush and special reserves where you can see turtles and dudongs, in season. Despite its dark history the people are generally very relaxed and friendly. There are good options for casual dining and the night market specialises in fresh seafood. Visits to the museum, the colonial governors' residence and the French and American prisons are recommended. There are wonderful trails to hike ; be safe wear good footwear, take water and snacks and beware of optimistic distance signage ; it may be further than you think !

    Con Dao is the perfect escape if you don't want crowds or tourist built up areas. If you don't want a beach holiday or relaxing slow paced life, don't go here. Perfect for kids, lots of beaches and sand and wildlife for then to see and great boat trips

    I’m torn between reporting how beautiful this place is and a desire to see it not overrun with people 😬 The history here is so sad & tragic and yet in the last 50 years it has transformed to a most amazing retreat.

    Loved our stay here! The hosts were super nice and very helpful, being able to hire the motorbikes made it really easy to get around the island, and we really enjoyed having various spots around the house where you could lounge and relax outside of your room (including wooden swings!). The stir fried seafood noodles were delicious - I think we ended up ordering them 3 times! - as were the fruits & yoghurt for breakfast. Overall, one of our favourite places to stay from our whole trip to Vietnam and Thailand!

    So glad we spent Têt here on Con Dao with the Garden House family. We went on picnics, hikes, dinner and the Lunar New Year celebrations together. What fun! Beautiful breakfasts in the garden. Con Dao is an incredible island with gorgeous beaches, great food and wonderful jungle hikes. A wonderful family run hotel/homestay. We extended our stay twice.

    I think this Hotel is one of the better Hotels in Con Dao (with just 3 stars). The room was big with all you need inside. very comfy and soft beds. The breakfast was also great - local and European style. Eggs will be cooked as you like them. They also renting the scooters directly - perfect! Overall this was the best Hotel on our 2 Weeks trip!

    The secret was a very aesthetic hotel with lots of facilities available. The staff were friendly, provided free water refills and the views from the hotel were amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable. The secret was a great hotel located on the main island. This provided us a sense of luxury while being able to explore the local area.

Nice breakfast offer Everything is clean. Location is good...very close to waterfront and places of interest. (the town beach is the cleanest on the island!)
