Kukummi is a wonderful lodge in an exceptional location. There are only three guest accommodations - each with its own rondavel. The atmosphere is therefore very personal, which I really liked, travelling on my own this time. Both hosts - Ryan and Danny - are super nice and make you feel like a friend from the moment you arrive. If you are interested, Ryan will be happy to tell you more about the place, the history of the lodge and the plans of the two owners. I was fascinated by his stories and couldn't stop asking more details (hope you didn't mind me bothering, Ryan... ;o) The staff is very attentive and eager to fulfill your every wish. Breakfast and dinner are very tasty. There is not much choice at dinner, but a fixed weekly menu, which is completely understandable given the small size of the hotel. I really enjoyed the meat dishes, but vegetarians also have no problem - Danny, the co-owner, is one himself. Various options were offered for breakfast. My personal favorite was the English breakfast prepared by Dombi - nothing was missing and it was excellently prepared... a dream! You have a wonderful view of the mountains and can go hiking from the lodge, but those who are not so adventurous can also enjoy this very special place in itself. My favorite spot for sunny days was in the meadow by the stream, where you can dip into the clear mountain water whenever it gets too warm. And: don't miss out the hot tub in the evening. It's such a great moment when you stretch out in the large, pleasantly temperate tub, with a cold beer or a glass of wine in your hand... I have every intention of coming back - preferably in September, when everything is in bloom.

From the outset Elri was very helpful and provided us with a lot of information about the attractions in the area. The chalet is very well equipped and was meticulously maintained by Christina throughout our stay. It is a surreal experience to wake up to the views and the resort is well positioned with many activities within and nearby.

Perfect base if you want to visit Cathkin and Cathedral peak. Belinda was a wonderful host who gave us a lot of recommendations for hiking in the region. The chalet has everything you need and was very comfy and clean. Spacious living room and kitchen opening up to the garden with 3 lovely dogs. Wifi worked perfectly. To sum up: perfect stay.

    Excellent location so much to do.

    Excellent location so much to do. The views were breath taking. People are friendly and welcoming. Excellent facilities. Security was excellent. No medical facilities near by almost stepped on a puff adder while walking on a path. More information on emergencies for snake bites required. Will definitely visit soon. Overall an excellent and magical destination.

    Theres plenty to do and see, its a real destination.

    Theres plenty to do and see, its a real destination. A few days here melt away in the mountains. Especially great if you enjoy hiking and being outdoors. Food options range from independent restaurants to grand resort buffets and be sure to try Chocolate memories of you have a sweet tooth. Its pretty much a one road tourist town and is super easy to navigate. It's where I run whenever I get a free weekend.

    We've been coming to Champagne Valley for many years from...

    We've been coming to Champagne Valley for many years from when my children were small. Now we visit with their own children. The area is absolutely beautiful, and the view of the mountains is spectacular. However, a word of caution, the roads are in a terrible state, so driving a 4x4 is helpful.

    I will recommend that, there must be a transport to the dam which you can request and pay, cos wow those steep road, we didn't reach I decided to turn back because I was afraid to drive there, my nerves were killing me, so my kids were disappointed also me, plz will you provide transportation

    There is a huge array of activities to do within the valley,...

    There is a huge array of activities to do within the valley, ranging from adventure (canopy tour, abseiling, quad bikes) to sport (golf, horse riding, fishing) to nature (hiking, birds of prey centre) to eating (many wonderful restaurants and bistros). Most things are very close and convenient which made the stay easy. Fave places: Valley Bakery; Birds of Prey Centre; Chocolate Bistro Great activities for families.

    We love Champagne Vallley: so much to see and do and Ardmore...

    We love Champagne Vallley: so much to see and do and Ardmore Guest farm is just great for couples on a budget or families. From hikes to restaurants and places to shop as well as many berg activities its a fabulous location. Driving around here is lovely adn Macs coffee shop is a must stop! The Nest offers bowls and Chamapage sports resort is open to day visitors. Monks Cowl Nature Reserve superb safe walking and hiking trails.
