We loved the exciting and comfortable game drives, the sundowners in the bush, the knowledgeable, friendly staff - we loved eating with the staff and other travelers at dinner - all communal areas were spotless and comfortable - staff was always on hand to ask questions or get a drink. The wildlife guides, Connie and Taybon, were just phenomenal, and the food was all delicious and rooms/showers were very comfortable! Location, animals (we saw SO MANY), everything outstanding.

Everything was perfect and high quality. Accommodation was very nice and comfortable, bed was amazing. Staff were very very friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing and they really go out of their way to make the experience unforgettable. We had lunch and dinners in various settings. The gym is small but well equipped. Massages were amazing and the game drives were fun and comfy.

Our stay at the beautiful Last Word Kitara was truly special. The lodge is set in a peaceful, breathtaking environment where you can completely immerse yourself in nature. The rooms are spacious, perfectly clean, and come with a beautiful balcony — the ideal spot to unwind between game drives. The food was outstanding throughout our stay. Every meal was delicious, and the attention to detail was impressive — the table was always beautifully set, with a different and thoughtful arrangement each time, which made every dining experience feel unique and personal. The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and always helpful. Everyone made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for, and their warmth added so much to our overall experience. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing guide Matt and tracker Patrick. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five all in one day, which was truly unforgettable. What really stood out was Matt’s genuine passion for animals — whether it was birds or big cats, his enthusiasm was contagious and made every sighting even more exciting. I particularly enjoyed watching how he and Patrick tracked the animals — carefully reading signs, interpreting tracks, and slowly piecing together where the wildlife might be. Being part of that process made each drive feel like a real adventure. This was such a wonderful way to celebrate my graduation. The hosts, Teneil and Joe, were amazing. They really went out of their way to create the perfect setting for me to propose to my girlfriend! The rooms were beautiful. The wildlife was a bit sparse, but the ones we saw were spectacular (for instance seeing 10 lions up close)!

Fantastic overall experience – this place offers both adventure and relaxation. Highlights include: • Two game drives a day with the most passionate and fabulous guide, Christelle – you couldn’t wish for better. • A great team at the lodge, from the gardeners and housekeepers to the cooks and business operators. • Wonderful breakfast, lunch and diner, including accommodations for people with dietary restrictions. • A customized stay, whether you’re visiting with friends, colleagues, as a couple, or on your honeymoon. This lodge is very eco-friendly, and they are continuously working on expanding the guest experience. Due to strict park regulations, the pool is rather small, but it’s perfect for cooling down. Additionally, you’ll find indoor and outdoor showers in your lodge. Do bring a book or two—between game drives, the peaceful surroundings invite you to unwind. Hoedspruit Airport is relatively close by, making arrivals and departures convenient. The 3-4 planes that fly by in the early afternoon are hardly noticeable. Rooms are very clean, and taken care of twice a day when on safari. The lodge is well protected, felt very safe during day and night time. With stunning views of the riverbanks, you might see various animals pass by while dining or relaxing—making this a place to remember.
