Miyajima
Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! I thought this would be just a nice sleepover place and nothing more but it is so beautiful and has a very unique traditional feel that it made our stay on the island so much better. You even get free breakfast/dinner if you don't have time to eat outside and depart early in the morning/ don't manage to fetch a table in a reataurant in the evening because there is limited amount of restaurants that are open in late evening or early morning. The whole house is very authentic and the family that runs the place also offers a little souvenir shop with super cheap prices of local souvenirs, some even locally handmade. Thr staff is super nice and the xommom areas welcoming to spend the evenings in game/living room. Also had beautiful garden and amazing views from the rooms right on the sea

Certain rooms include an en suite bathroom. Toiletries and slippers are provided for in the private and shared bathroom. Everything. The hotel is on the hill and approx. 20 minutes by foot from the ferry but the property provides a shuttle. 7 minutes away from Itsukushima-jinja. If you want to explore the island more after the check-out you could store your luggage and take a shuttle later that day. Clean and neat. Welcoming staff, most of them have good English. Nice colourful yukatas to select from and a hanten. Tasty traditional breakfast with an instruction on how to eat it. Comfortable bed in a classic room.

Oh, Iroha…. Where do I begin?
We were greeted by the friendliest and kindest front desk staff, both of the ladies were extremely welcoming and helpful. They asked about our dinner plans and book us a table at a wonderful place. As this was the first place in Japan with Onsen that we stayed at we were explained how to prepare and what are the rules. We went there in the late evening, it was empty and from the outside bath you could enjoy the amazing views of Itsikushima Shrine, just magical!
Also we were given a free upgrade to queen suite which we did not expect at all and it was incredible. I could not recommend enough this place and staying at Miyajima Island over night in general. You can’t fully experience the unique charm and beauty of this place by coming just for few hours. Come for a night or two and stay at Iroha, I can guarantee it will be a highlight of your Japan trip!
Thank you for having us!

Renewed in 2013, Sakuraya offers affordable Japanese-style rooms with mountain or sea views. Free Wi-Fi is available at the public areas. Miyajima Ferry Terminal is a 3-minute walk away.
The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each comes with a flat-screen TV and an electric kettle with green tea bags. All rooms have a private toilet, and some have shared bathroom facilities.
Fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff. Good sized rooms, comfy futons. We booked the sea view rooms, it was beautiful. The public bath was great. Good value breakfast too!
Miyajima
Reopened in April 2014 after renovations, Miyajima Morinoyado offers comfortable guest rooms and a spacious public bath. It is a 1-minute walk to Miyajima Aquarium and a 15-minute to Itsukushima Shrine. From the free shuttle, to the welcoming staff and just the overall experience, it was amazing. The location is absolutely great as it's just outside the busy area, across the aquarium (which we can recommend) and the start of one of the three routes up Mt. Misen. It's quiet, the view from our seaside room was gorgeous and the food so tasty. Do not hesitate, book here! I certainly will if I come back to Miyajima!

Lovely comfortable, very stylish inn
View out the window to Miyajima was gorgeous. Loved the room with both beds and a futon tatami area. Breakfast was great. Heaps of options, fresh and yummy! Onsen was lovely! Shuttle bus from the station was great and timetabling of it was great for us to get in and out of town.
Charmingly designed with tradition, big hotel. Had good sea view. Enjoyed the dinner and cruise. Onsen was quite empty at dinner time so peace and quiet
The staff were so friendly and lovely. It was a truly incredible stay. The private Onsen made my little families trip. The stand alone house was gorgeous.
The view was exceptional and the dinner in the room was very delicious. The room is spacious and is beautifully designed. It is located right at the beach which was great to explore and the shuttle to the hotel from the station was punctual and fast. The breakfast was great too.
The hotel itself gives is beautifully designed and gives off a traditional ryokan vibe. The location is perfect and is a great option for those who plan to stay a night. They also provide yukatas and sandals for use around the island. The onsen bath was also very pleasant and I was lucky enough to receive a free room upgrade. Would definitely visit again.
Absolutely insane location overlooking the gorgeous sea and Miyajima island. The room was probably the largest I've seen in Japan and was very comfortable. It was super affordable and even came with a delicious free breakfast. Could not recommend the stay here enough!
The hotel is gorgeous and the staff (particularly a woman from Taiwan whose name I unfortunately cannot spell) were SO lovely and helpful. The traditional Japanese room with views onto the garden/mountains was stunning, huge, and impeccably clean. The Japanese breakfasts & dinners, including their oysters, were fantastic.
