Koora hotel was a wonderful experience for us. The pictures in Booking are not showing the full advantages of the hotel. The hotel is beautiful, great view and provides exceptional service. The restaurant of the hotel is great as well

Main thing for us was the Dutch couple who managed the Hotel, super friendly, knowledgeable, made you feel so relaxed and went that extra mile to make the hotel experience even better but it was also the entire setup that appealed to us, the fact that staying here you was contributing towards helping local children, the style of the hotel was like nothing else we had come across, the main building where reception/restaurant was so open, great views but so stylish with local arts dotted everywhere and beautiful local plants to make you feel relaxed, we loved the rooms set-up , just simple but stylish with a very eco orientated thought put into it and of course the view across Monteverde, the fact that the trees cut down where the plot was for the hotel, all the wood was recycled back into the building and it's furniture, finally the Breakfast, one if not the best we had on our entire Costa Rica journey, an original style dish of beans & rice, with other options which my wife & kid thoroughly enjoyed, washed down with fresh coffee & juices, also it was a short easy journey into town. The couple also helped us with the day to day excursions, sorting out & contacting the places, helping with travel if needed, just made it that much easier to have a great few days in Monteverde recommending what to do and the layout/distance to the places we chose to indulge in, highly recommend this place as not just a place to stay but a total experience to enter into

The house (the big one) exceeded our expectations: spacious, all necessary kitchen utilities available, privacy and comfort. The reception staff deserve our special thanks. They did much more than could be reasonably expected to organise the sending of the documents one of our friends had forgotten in Osa peninsula. The breakfast was generous and delicious. Thank you!

Everything was clean and the accommodation had all the things we needed. There were a lot of thoughtful details added such as a first aid kit and a reusable shopping bag.

Very nice apartment and the best thing - there are washing and drying machines! So we finally washed and dried our clothes after a few rainy & muddy days.

Our stay in the Casita was fantastic- it is centrally located, just a 5 minute walk into town, cosy and felt extremely safe. The casita was very well-equipped with everything you’d need in the kitchen and even a heated blanket, which I made use of as the evenings were chilly! The real highlight was our host Jose, who went out of his way to accommodate us by booking several tours, giving us a lift to dinner and even driving us 40 minutes to meet our minibus driver when he forgot to pick us up!

We stayed in the 2 bedroom house that was detached from the main cattleya hostel. Basically the way it works is that you have a hostel featuring numerous private rooms on one street and then the next street over you have two x 2 bedroom houses that could be rented for larger groups of up to 4. We hired the later and have nothing but positive feedback. PROS - VALUE - Stupidly cheap. 30 USD a night for three people which is actually cheaper than 3 x dorm beds and afforded access to a fully self contained house with complete kitchen which allowed us to save even more. - SECURITY - Deadbolt on the doors and bars over all the windows. - LOCATION - Within walking distance to the main area of Santa Elena. Walking distance to bus station and supermarket. - GYM - located literally across the road it cost 3000 colon for a day pass. - CLEAN - ROOMS - The place had two seperate rooms both of which had comfortable beds. Air conditioning worked well. Quilts on the beds. Hot water worked well. A fully stocked kitchen with fridges allowed us to self cater to further save more money, - WIFI - Worked well and was quite fast. Fast enough to stream netflix without an issue as well as YouTube. - TV had netflix and YouTube and streamed without issue. - FRIENDLY STAFF - At the hostel we were able to book a few tours with the major companies in the region and arrange for pick up and drop off from these areas.

We loved the terrace and the view! It was quite windy, but it was still amazing to have some drinks and breakfast there. Breakfast is great! Rooms are basic but clean and we were perfectly comfortable. We had a shared bathroom and it was not too crowded at all. There are plenty of places to hang out even when it's too cold in the terrace. Basic kitchen is also available. Location is good too, Santa Elena center is just a very short walk away. The best part is the staff. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful, they helped us book all our activities and transport and gave us all the information we needed. We felt very well taken care of. I would definitely stay here again.
