Hotel Majapahit is Surabaya's equivalent of Singapore's Raffles at a fraction of the price. I'll probably never experience the 5-star luxury of the Singaporean version and the Hotel Majapahit obviously cannot offer the same standard as they hopefully do. Nevertheless my stay at Hotel Majapahit was incredible. Hotel Majapahit is a grand hotel on a 3-star hotel price. Our room was charmingly old-fashioned and very spacious, the bathroom was incredible with a bathtub, shower cabin and toilet cubicle. We had a terrace with a garden view. The hotel is huge and one can imagine how lively it must have been in the old days. The swimming pool area was very pleasant and the pool and spa's catering and staff were amazing. Our breakfast at Restaurant Indigo was good and the staff were very kind and very professional. Walking through this historical building and being part of it even if only for one night was something never to be forgotten.

Stayed with 2 kids. It was allowed to book 1 room for 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids), but there was only one queen bed. Lovely staff helped to organize the second room for kids on the same floor. Nice view, comfortable beds, generous breakfast with a combination of traditional and European dishes. Kids enjoyed the pool and gym. The gym is not big, but enough for a workout with weights and some other equipment. Drinking water is on every floor.

I love the location. It was about 10 minutes by taxi from Pasar Turi station. I had a concert to attend at Grand City Mall, which was less than 8 minutes from this hotel.
In Indonesia, there is a morning prayer called Fajr at about 4 a.m. Some hotels are located next to the Mosque, which makes it impossible to sleep. My room was on the 14th floor, and I did not hear any loud noise from 4 a.m., which made me very happy. I honestly do not have any complaints. All of the staff were welcoming from check-in to check-out. I was looking for a hotel close to Pasar Turi station and tried different hotels, but I did not like them. Leedon will be my regular stay in Surabaya.
