Beautiful traditional style tatami suite with a king size bed. Glorious garden view and private onsen. Staff were amazing. There was a mix up with dinner but they apologised profoundly and refunded us a substantial amount for the dinner. The traditional Japanese breakfast more than made up for it.

Designed by Shinji Kagawa, the stylish AKARI et KAORI formerly Taizanso is a 10-minute drive from Shuzenji Train Station.

Beautiful room with private onsen bath. The evening meal and breakfast were both beautiful and incredible. They catered perfectly for our various dietary requirements. The women's communal onsen was so lovely and beautifully designed. The staff were exceptional in every respect.

Registered as a cultural property, Arai Ryokan features natural hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese architecture just a 5-minute walk from Shuzenji Temple.

Absolutely stunning location. Beautiful historic building, spotlessly clean and comfortable with incredibly kind and friendly staff. The onsen baths were lovely and the peace and tranquility were very special. The meals were fantastic - two of our party don’t eat fish and the hotel went out of their way to provide delicious and varied alternatives. The staff who looked after meal service were so friendly and helpful, explaining how to eat the more complicated courses.

Japanese-style hotel 湯回廊菊屋 is a 6-minute drive from Shuzenji Station in Izu City. It features indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, as well as a restaurant. Free parking is available.

The private bath in the room was amazing and we used it many times during our short one-night stay. The facility was huge with sprawling, beautiful forest views and even a koi pond! There were many free refreshments provided during our stay like alcoholic / soft drinks, tea / coffee in a dedicated room open all times, ice cream, ramen, etc.

Set in Izu and only 400 metres from Shuzen-ji Temple, TORUS 修善寺 Condominium 貸切宿 offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Such a unique place. Enjoyed finally having some comfy couches to relax in! Very well fitted out with absolutely everything you could need. Centrally located to all the sights. This would be a great place for a group of people as there is so much seating and even two kitchens. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Goyokan! The staff were so kind and the baths were beautiful and relaxing. Both the dinner and breakfast were delicious, and one of the staff members even played the koto before dinner which was a pleasant surprise! It was also located right in the centre of Shuzenji making it very easy to access all the sights in town.

Pretty much perfect. Excellent location just out of the main part of town but easy walking distance to everything, with access to the Sakura lined walking path along the river. Quiet, calm and peaceful and exactly as we would want a ryokan in a small and charming onsen town to be. Well prepared meals, friendly and attentive service from check in to check out
