Amazing hospitality and attention to details from the staff. Very large and comfy room (compared to standards in Japan at least). Walking distance to the bamboo forest and other gems in the northwest of Kyoto, way more calm than the east side. Highly recommend this place.

The breakfast was great with an option for vegetarians. The location is a bit far from the city, but near the bamboo forest and train stations, which fit our needs.

Great location, 10min walking to the bamboo forest and temple. Get there early, this makes a big difference in crowd sizes in these very touristic places. Go further north for quieter and just as beautiful temples / areas. Helpful host and super useful parking space in kyoto. Plenty of space in the house for a family.

Great stay with kind and attentive staff. Great breakfast, with views. Calm onsen. Bonus points for the yukata in the room with a guide how to wear, and how to tie the obi. The Arashiyama area is lively in the day, during the evenings and night it is very calm and you can barely see anyone outside, which adds to the vibe but if you want some late night snacks just know this.
