Great open lobby, you do not get to see many of those. Very airy, good food, huge room. Nice and quiet location. Shuttle service to center. Subway 7 minutes walk, no issue. Loved it.

Ryokan Tori is truly a remarkable place where traditional Japanese design blends seamlessly with modern comforts. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming, making every guest feel at home from the moment they arrive. Even though we couldn’t check in until 4 pm on our first day they gave us wonderful advice on what to see in the area, so time flew by quickly. We can honestly say that we enjoyed the best breakfasts of our entire trip to Japan here, and the tea ceremony was an unforgettable experience — it felt so special to be able to watch and taste tea prepared in such a traditional way. After long days of exploring Kyoto, the onsen was the perfect way to relax each evening. The futons were very comfortable, and our room was both spacious and beautifully decorated. This ryokan has given us memories we will treasure, and we truly hope to return one day.

Everything was perfect, definitely the best backpacking place in Japan. Quiet rooms, every little detail in the facility makes it super comfy and relaxed place to be and to meet other travelers. Free coffee, laundry, great beds, quiet rooms that I didn't even notice it was shared ones. Masa us english speaker and super nice. Can't ask for more, thank you!

The people i've met in Kokonoe Machiya. It's simply a place where you get the experience to meet new people and peer into their lives, given the chance. I've been lucky to meet Emily, Blanca, Eze, Sato-san, Chen and especially Tony, I won't ever forget this experience i've had during my stay. I've made a lot of good memories here, and I'll be visiting again for sure during my next stay in Kyoto ! Loved the coffee station and the kitchen space, there are books and board games for guests to use. The room was very clean and comfortable, we had a room with a shared bathroom and the shower and toilet were always very clean. The cafe downstairs is also a nice space, great coffee and French toast!

agoThis is by far the best hotel i have ever stayed at. Beautiful hidden gem The room was spacious and having your own private onsen was amazing. The staff were very kind and helpful. Pros: - hotel looks so pretty and has that traditional Japanese style -Spacious room, clean and looks so neat. -arrival little sweets - you have all the stuff you need in this hotel including makeup removes, facial toners and serum. -private onsen. -beds are super comfortable -staff are helpful and friendly -able to send your luggage to your next destination - 15 mins walk from the station - there are cafes and familymart nearby. Thank you for having us. We had the best time staying at your hotel.

The hotel is a small boutique hotel located by Kamogawa river, close to subway and Eizan railway. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and always willing to help. I have been to Kyoto many times but staying at Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa had definitely made this trip even more enjoyable and comfortable. The hotel provides different local sweets and snacks everyday in the room so it’s always a surprise what I come back and find. The amenities in the room is well equipped with superb quality. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re ever in Kyoto and wish to stay somewhere away from the busy downtown. Look forward to stay here again in the future. PS. Crosta deliver my luggage to the hotel since I arrived very early in the morning. Then it’s hassle free to wander around without dragging the luggage to the hotel before check-in time.
