the room was awesome, the onsen was nice, especially the onsen outside the room, inside the room not so hot, could be hotter. Room is very spacious, comfy, a lot of amenities.

Everything, the dinner and breakfast was probably the best Ryokan food I ever had (and I had many). The location was so close to everything, especially the bus station, and on the way we could always say hello to Taro-kun, the village shiba. It was also really nice to be able to enjoy the private onsen with my partner. I think the owners should also update the booking.com profile and add photos of the onsen and food as it would be beneficial, I have booked this based on the great reviews on both Google and Booking.com, but some people may pass on this lovely ryokan due to lack of photos.

Great accommodation in Hirayu Onsen. May be the best accommodation i ever had in my travels. The private outdoor onsen was amazing, staff very serviceable and room spotlessly clean.

The rooms are big (enormous for Japanese standards), the staff is super helpful and friendly and tie cuisine is tasty. Yes, the hotel is a bit older but clean and well functioning. Plus the own private hot tub with hot spring water is great to have

The staff were lovely and attentive and spoke fantastic English. Information on the services available was written clearly in multiple languages, making it very easy to understand. There were also diagrams for using the public onsen, which was extremely helpful for a first-time user. The food was absolutely delicious. The Hida beef course was well worth the additional cost. The whole hotel had a quiet and calming atmosphere, which was perfect for relaxing in the onsens.

Located in Okuhida Onsen Village among the Japanese Alps, Hodakaso Yamano Hotel features 7 public hot-spring baths and a fireplace lounge. Rooms offer beautiful mountain views and a private bathroom.

Perfect location with hotel just in front of Yamano hotel bus stop on the way from Hirayu to Shinhotaka ropeway. Great Japanese style welcoming staff with nice amenities inside the room. Hotel has different type of Onsen, indoor onsen separate for men and women, large open air mixed onsen (great for families), private open air onsen (1000 JPY for 30 mins). Access to the open air onsen area is through gandola which is bit different experience. Also there are different indoor activities like board games, snooker etc. kept there for fun activities. Overall had really great time there and definitely recommended.
