From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by David, one of the most genuine and caring hotel staff members I’ve ever encountered. He took the time to walk us up to the room himself, just to make sure we were happy and comfortable, a small gesture that made a huge impact. He was incredibly patient and accommodating, and thanks to him, our stay was just incredible. At Sonder we didn’t feel like tourists, we genuinely felt like locals living in New York. The location is great, peaceful and authentic, away from the chaos of midtown, but still very easy to reach by metro, even from the airport. Our room had absolutely breathtaking views, we could see both Lower Manhattan (with the WTC) and Midtown (including the ESB). The room itself was cozy, full of thoughtful boutique style touches, and the double shower heads were a lovely surprise. After trying several hotels in NYC, this one was by far our favorite. We can’t wait to return.

I stayed in this hotel when visiting NYC for the first time and I have to say that the location is excellent - good subway connection to JFK and walking distance to almost everywhere in Manhattan. Also this place has one of the best rooftop bars.

The hotel is great, very welcoming, clean and comfortable. Great locations, actually amazing, very kind staff and awesome breakfast. The room was very very nice even if not with much space, bed are comfortable and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Overall great experience because most of all we felt like home!

I stayed at this hotel for my birthday and it was an unforgettable experience! We were extremely happy with our stay here. The staff was very kind and helpful. They let us drop off our luggage before and after our stay, and brought us extra bedsheets on request. The room was spacious enough to store all our luggage and still have room to move around; all the facilities were clean and comfortable. The view from our room was also great. The location is unbeatable, close to bus & subway, and it's pretty easy to reach most places in manhattan/brooklyn within an hour max. There's plenty of bodegas and restaurants nearby where you can have a delicious meal for 5-10$. The area is also very safe, I felt comfortable walking around on my own as a woman, even in the evening. The hotel is also family owned and operated, so a great choice instead of supporting a chain. All in all nothing to complain about and great value for your money!

Very close to the metro, and close to Essex market and trader Joe so it’s easy to move around and get good. There are also a number of very nice restaurants and a gentrified part where it is pleasant to go out to. Facilities were very comfortable and clean.
