Lovely room, lovely breakfast, stunning location and Christian the owner was brilliant. We used the Gasthof Schontal as a base for travelling to and from Kitzbuhel for a days skiing and the Hahnenkahm races. A half hour drive takes you to Kirchberg in Tyrol where there is free parking and a free shuttle train which takes you into Kitzbuhel itself. Perfect

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little out of town but this also means it is very peaceful. You can walk down to the town via a delightful path through the forest. The path is well marked and easy to follow. The local bus service stops near the hotel too. The breakfast room has very nice views across the valley and the hotel restaurant serves very nice meals.

This is the best place I have stayed, truly excellent. The family were excellent hosts, friendly and everything you needed but not overbearing, like a top Michelin star restaurant. The breakfast was excellent too. The views unparalleled. The rooms clean and nice and big, with excellent bathrooms. The town is nice. Thank you so much to family Larch for the best stay in our trip.     Well renovated and comfortable for a family. Comfortable beds and nice warm rooms. Kitchen was well equipped for nights when you wanted to eat in. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Surrounding nature and mountains were super scenic and you were only 5 mins to the ski lift.

    Excellent experience!!!! The host has taken care of everthing, even much more the necessities.The host is very friendly, supportive and responsive. The location is excellent and there are lot of activities nearby, which are free on Wildschonau card (card is free with the booking). I strongly recommend this place to all, especially the families! Special thanks to the host for making our stay very comfortable and pleasant.
