Excellent apartment. I can't say this is the best option for 100 miles around simply because it's the only option I tried within the said radius, but I'll be surprised if it isn't. Why? One of the most important points for me (a solo car traveller) was to have a good place to sleep and this apartment was not less than by far the best option I have ever experienced in my life (I've had enough of them): the sleeping room was almost pitch dark due to a location and shutters, it was super quiet, the bed mattress was properly stiff and long for a tall person (in my home country I just couldn't find such a mattress for a long time already), and the blanket was while thick - just properly warm, not hot or humid, like it frequently happens with blankets of that thickness. So eventually I've had the best night sleep in...months, if not years. Really. And I really enjoyed dealing with the host. So overall while I didn't expect much and didn't even try ~70% of other facilities (there's a proper Finnish sauna right there!), I'm super happy with this accommodation, and I will be happy to stay there on the next occasion, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. Just superb.

My wife and I managed only one night and one walk, as we were on our way to our planned holiday in Italy. We can very easily imagine a longer stay here: - The location is indeed very special. Gurk itself has certainly a fantastic setting, but the hotel is the place itself. - The room was very spacious, the bathroom itself had the size of a hotel room :-). We had the luck to have a corner room, with windows facing two directions with great views, but I can imagine that each room is great. - Parking is just right to the entrance, easy. - The staff was friendly and helpful. - We had just the breakfast; the unusual is that you have your table reserved; actually the system is fine, particularly if the place is more busy than during our stay. The choice and the quality was very good. Apart from the pre-paid meal we had a little wine and coffee in the coffee next to the reception desk, and it was great. - You can make walks or trips around, the countryside just invites for that. And you can hire a bike, if you decide only later. - A cozy little sitting area in the room, if you want to just sit what a while with your cup of tea/coffee (tea/coffee making possible in the room). - WiFi was available and working.

This accommodation is in a spacious forest garden. It's so clean and I wake up early in the morning listening to birdsong. It's located very close to downtown, which takes about 12 minutes by car. The host took such a clean and beautiful care of the house and surroundings that I had a very peaceful time without any inconvenience during my stay. Highly recommend.

We loved everything about this place. So beautiful and peaceful. The views in the drive to it and from the home were amazing. Very, very clean. The facilities for the children were fantastic, beautiful gardens with amazing views. The family are wonderful people, very friendly, relaxed and accommodating. 100% we will be back!
