Family hotels and homes in Shangri-La

I feel really lucky to find the place, thanks to previous reviews of other travellers. I would also recommend you to stay here to experience Lijiang Ancient City. Perfect location, quietness and special experience of staying in old house with modern facilities inside the room. Staffs are extremely warm and friendly, somehow special and impressive to me.

The location was superb; 1.4 km from Dukezong ancient city and a short walk to the White Pagoda Temple and the bus stop to take Bus 3 to Songzanlin Monastery. Service was exceptional. We arrived at the resort at about noon and was immediately checked-in without hesitation. A staff offered to walk us to the nearby bus stop. When we asked to delay our check-out to 12.30 p.m the reception staff replied "Oh, you can even check-out later if you wish" The lobby was beautiful. Our Twin Room comes with 2 large beds and was so cozy. The buffet breakfast was great and has a wide variety.

Mr Lee - the owner of the place had upgraded our booking to another of his property just few doors away from Courtyard Shangri-la. It is a much bigger and newer property - actually everything looked new. Mr Lee had given us a big penthouse with sitting and ensuite downstair and a big area on the upper floor with 2 queen beds, another sitting / TV area, a large writing table, huge bathtub, and another toilet. This room can in fact stay for at least 4 persons comfortably. The property was clean, very comfortable and very quiet. It also feel secure and exclusive. Taxi or Didi can just reach up to the entrance of the property, so it is also very convenient in that sense. Mr Lee has been very kind to offer to pick us up at the train station when we arrived and drop us off when we left with his nice big 4WD. We can also enjoy our coffee at Courtyard Shangri-la in the morning for free. The property is a bit out of the busy area of Dukezong Ancient City but it is better as it is more peaceful with less people. It also has a very nice view to the Big Buddha Temple at Guishan Park in the Ancient Town (from the upper floor) - particularly when the lights are on, fantastic view! Note that this IS NOT about Courtyard Shangri-la but another newer property of the same owner. Thanks to Mr Lee for his hospitality. If I ever return to Shangri-la City, I will certainly contact Mr Lee again.

The bathroom it's awesome!! Shangri-La is super cold place but the hostel toilet bowl is digital with temperature. When u go toilet is comfy. 😁 I went to Lijiang & Dali also without this facilities. Host got offer book car return Lijiang & Shangri-La, price also reasonable. Hostel provide 2 heater., room it's big, breakfast it's delicious. Recommended

Great atmosphere and host of the inn. We had a great time staying there!
