We stayed for over a week and saw an incredible amount of wildlife. Every day we saw something different and amazing whether it was monkeys, a sloth, invertebrates, birds (including toucans, swallow tailed kites, hummingbirds, trogons, woodpeckers, parrots, puffbirds, cuckoos), snakes, frogs. Ron, Val and the team do a really great job of maintaining the hostel and the trails. For such a remote location right in the middle of the rainforest the hostel is extremely well equipped including the kitchen, it looks picturesque, and is comfortable. I highly recommend staying here if you want to be truly immersed in nature and see a lot of wildlife.

The place is very unique and once can feel the love and care with which it has been built and maintained over the last years. The fruit garden is rich and diverse and the owner is passionate about sharing knowledge about it. The communal kitchen is very well equipped. The bathroom facilities are shaped in beautiful wood and stone material. The bedrooms are equally beautiful and clean. There is a large platform where you can do yoga or relax as well as a lush river just behind the house to bath in. The owners and their three friendly dogs make you feel at home that you don’t want to leave.

The best place we stayed in Costa Rica. Dario and Frederica have set up something special here in Dos Brazos, near the Corcovado National Park. Set in the heart of the jungle, in a lovely small Gold Mining village this beautiful guest house is a fantastic place to stay. Great welcome, the most comfortable bed, shower and space of our trip so far. A lovely fresh breakfast, great self catering facilities (but Frederica is a chef and will cook your dinner). Watching the jungle birds from their deck was a true joy. They went out of their way to book us a guide for a day exploring the jungle - a shout out to Jose who was a brilliant tour guide to the jungle. He grew up in the village, was fantastically knowledgeable about animals, history and Costa Rican life. Speaking excellent English. He is also a great artist - get him to show you the furniture he makes. Dos Brazos is also worth a mention such a lovely little village, the residents there welcomed guests so warmly, everyone we met had a smile and hola. Try the homemade ice creams advertised from small house! Perfect treat after a hot walk. La Casita means little house, but this is a little house with a big heart thanks to Dario and Frederica’s love and attention to detail. Perfect in every way and I wish we could have stayed longer (forever!). grazie per la vostra accoglienza e ospitalità. è un piacere conoscervi entrambi.

We stayed two nights at the location and it was very pleasent. The room was simple and clean. We slept well with AC and used the kitchen for cooking. It had everything we needed. The porch is cosy and we saw two Aras in the garden and plenty of other birds. We also did a two day tour with Kerley to la Sirena. It was an exceptional experience in the national park. He is a great guy and a very good gide. He is really pationate about his job and it was very nice talking wih him. We highly recommend staying and doing a tour with him. All the best for your plans Kerley! Christian and Agi.

Such an amazing, one of a kind experience! Pure jungle Life! We had such a good time here and out Hosts Liz, Danger, Allison were so helpful and kind. They know a Person for everything and can help you set up some amazing tours. We did a night hike in the Jungle and it was one of the coolest things we ever did. It was a pleasure to stay here and get to know the Jungle Lifestyle.

The journey to get there was a bit bumpy, but trust us - it’s absolutely worth it! The property itself is breathtaking, with a beautiful trek that winds through lush greenery. This trail leads to a magnificent old oak tree and a river—an idyllic spot for nature lovers. We stayed in the Tunas Lodge, and let me tell you, the name is perfect. Toucans are everywhere and their favorite hangout spot is right above the bungalow. Watching these vibrant birds so up close was pure magic. The lodge is beautifully designed. One of the highlights was waking up to the sounds of nature and stepping onto the balcony to witness all four species of monkeys casually jumping from tree to tree. The owners are incredibly nice and always ready to help. What truly stands out about Maze Lodge is the owners’ commitment to sustainability. They work with local providers, ensuring that the lodge supports the community and minimizes its environmental footprint. Our stay was short, but we’re already looking forward to returning. Maze Lodge is a true hidden gem for anyone seeking a magical and eco-friendly escape in the heart of the Osa Peninsula.

Wow, hidden gem. We had villa #8 which had a stunning view of jungle and even the gulf in the distance. Villa was clean and modern and the club house is fantastic (games, infinity pool, plus great staff, service and food!) The caretaker Richie is such a nice guy and has great tips for places to visit. Be prepared this is jungle, which we loved, but that also means if you leave the exterior lights on in evening you'll see spiders the size of your palm and hundreds of bugs! You can probably get to property with any car but once inside a 4x4 is helpful because the hills are insane.

It’s got a great driveway, spacious house with two levels, great mosquito netting that goes around the bed, 3 bathrooms, lovely pets including a friendly parrot 🦜 and the outside patio is well kept and the pool stylish (and illuminated in the evenings!). We stayed for 6 nights with Geraldo and his family and they were very welcoming and even gave us fresh bananas and coconut waters daily. His wife did our washing and folded it really neatly. We were never bored as there is so much to do on the Osa Peninsula and we really missed the place and all the people and animals living there when we left. We saw squirrel monkeys from the balcony in the morning and saw macaws fly over the house regularly.

The lodges are very pretty and fully equipped of everything you need. The forest is amazing and it is a cool experience to sleep in it. The your owner is very nice, always kind and friendly like his family. You can have breakfast and dinner cooked by them and the food is simple but very good. We stayed 4 nights at the end of june in el manantial and had a really good stay. The cabina has air-con, what was great, it is clean and had enough space for our little family. It is located  in the center of Dos Brazos near to the school, tourism office and a little shop (maybe you better should bring fresh veggies or fruits from Puerto Jimenez). We did some hikes in Bolita Rainforest and booked a night hiking with Kerley, we saw a lot of animals - we recommend both!

Clothing optional! was a big draw for me 😀. The kitchens were lovely areas that inspired me to have fun- play and create food with love! The trails were also divine- I was buzzing and definitely went into an Osa portal with the cicadas frequencies, rich soil, pulsating life!
