I really enjoyed my stay here. I will definitely come back again if I was around. Wendy and her husband are so kind and helped me out a couple of time. Had some good conversations. The extra plus was with Mikey for the hiking around the area (ask Wendy for the experience). I had the possibility to plant a tree for a good cause. Excellent place and experience. My 'coup de coeur' so far in Costa Rica ✌️

The view! The hotel restaurant is pricey (10% tip included) but it's super nice, good steak, and the employees were super nice. 1st real hot shower in Costa Rica! It's close enough to La Fortuna (30 min), but not too close. Very quiet. You do not need a 4x4 to get here, like I read in some reviews, if you are coming from La Fortuna, you just need to pay attention to the potholes.

The view on the Arenal lake and region from the Nepenthe B&B is absolutely wonderfull. We had a great time there. Breakfast is served close to the property. Personel of the restaurant is very friendly and helpfull. We had dinner as well and they provide enough choices for a family. Toucans were flying around the property. The swimming pool is nice and has the most beautiful view. Definitely a peaceful place to stay if you like to be a bit more remote from the more busy La Fortuna city. We would recommend it.

The hotel is in a very beautiful, quiet and pleasant location. We found the room comfortable and the staff very kind. The view from the windows is very nice but, particularly in our room (villa 12), the view of the volcano was obstructed by trees - which seems very natural to me, since we were in the middle of nature - but it wasn't exactly the same as the photos we saw. The fact that breakfast wasn't at the hotel didn't bother us at all, the restaurant is a 2-minute drive away and the hotel offers transportation. We liked it very much and would definitely return.

When we arrived I saw one of the most breath taking views ever. The volcano is so close and makes a crazy impression. I could just stare at it. I wish we could stay longer. Such a peaceful and calm environment, breath taking view on the volcano, well maintained gardens, fantastic pool. So much wildlife- we could hear hundreds of birds all the time. I recommend visiting nearby restaurants as there are so many just a few minutes away. The only thing I didn’t like was a dinner at the hotel restaurant- it was expensive and really not too tasty. Very „Americanized” menu. I would rather have something local and simple. Breakfasts were wonderful though.

    Definitely the best place we stayed in Costa Rica. It was so great waking up in the tents with a fantastiv view on the vulkano. The tents were very comfortable and awesome. In the morning we even saw some tucans. The best part of our stay were Wendy and Roger. The wete so welcoming, heartwarming, helpful, and fun and it was always nice to have a little chat with them

    It's a beautiful place in a very nice setting with a sustainable concept. The staff is very friendly and engaged. Horse rising was great and the kids can experience the animals on the farm.

    An amazing place in the heart of the Jungle. Toucans and hummingbirds wake us up. A swimming pool in a paradise garden, a jacuzzi and all this with a view of the Arenal volcano. Great staff, delicious vegetarian food. We recommend it wholeheartedly. Child-friendly.

    Great view of the volcan directly from the bed. Staff really nice and helpful. I had a payment problem with one card which resulted as the amount frozen on my account. They did the necessary to resolve it quickly. And Christian, one waiter of the restaurant is very friendly and funny and give good tips about what to do in the area.

    We travelled with our children (3 years old and 8 months) and it was a dream destination! We were prepared for the « bumpy » road to get there, and it was much less difficult than expected. Nepenthe was a magic place to stay for our family. We loved: 1-The LOVELY and welcoming staff at Phoenix restaurant. Our son already misses his « friends » 2- The view from our villa was breathtaking. 3-The calm, the birds, the weather and all the activities in the area! 4-The villa #7 itself was well furnished and very spacious
