The stay at Battery Valley Farm was excellent. It was a unique experience for us. It is an active farm located not far from the town of Albert. The place offers cozy and pleasant rooms and a breakfast that includes farm-fresh ingredients. We arrived with only one day to visit the monuments and museums dedicated to the Battle of the Somme and were quite confused about how to plan our day. We received a lot of help from Mireille, the owner, who is a great expert in tourism in the area. Mireille presented us with the available options and helped us organize our visit. Rural location, in the heart of Somme area, just what we were looking for. Nice continental breakfast was offered, and plenty of it. Area around the gite was very quiet and peaceful. Could easily spend a few days here in the summer, relaxing in the garden. Hosts were very welcoming.

Outstanding gîte in the village of Combles. It's located next to the house where the owners live, very spacious and fully equipped with everything you need. Actually, we were suprised by the size and comfort provided. The contact with the owners was also very relaxed and friendly. We felt welcomed, since our kid was allowed to play with their kids and use some of the toys in the garden. Since we were only on a stopover I can't say anything about the location as a base for activities in the region, but it seemed nice and we would like to come back for a weekend or so.

The property was perfect. The outside garden and internally everything was new and we could recommend the property to anyone. We would give the property 6 stars if we could. The property owners were courteous, helpful and responded to our questions promptly. We will be back.
