Arriving late off the Northlink ferry is sometimes a challenge for getting booked into places and obtaining keys and parking can be an issue. This however was perfect with its own car park and the room keys and a welcome note left for my arrival. The room was prepared ready for my arrival, heating and lights on and curtains closed. The en-suite room was warm and comfortable with all the usual shower gel, shampoo, tea and coffee etc. The breakfast was perfect and the owners/staff very welcoming and friendly. I've definitely found my place for when work takes me to Orkney :-)

Karrawa is a lovely home with a very comfortable guest room and an exquisitely appointed en-suite. Everything was so clean and Fyona was quite friendly snd welcoming. Our cooked breakfast was delicious. I wish we had been able to spend more time there.

Lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful with local attractions, the even had road maps for hirers to borrow. The cottage was beautifully presented with quality furnishings, fully equipped kitchen, great WiFi and a TV in each room. The washer, dryer and dishwasher were welcomed as well as the tasty locally produced treats left for us to enjoy.

Exceptionally clean property, decorated to a very high standard throughout! Stunning views from the upstairs living room. A very relaxing break, and a great location with walks right on your doorstep. Lots of nice touches on our arrival made our stay very comfortable. Everything you need, from coffee, dishwasher tablets, cleaning products, and even toothbrushes & hair bobbles etc for emergencies! They've really thought of everything! Great host, great stay! Runa Guesthouse is a fantastic place. It is spacious, well maintained and clean. It is a very well equipped room and the facilities work perfectly.. Great views over rural land, and Hoy’s mountains at the distance. Ideal for visiting all the attractions of Mainland. We stayed there for three nights, and the location allowed us to drive all over the mainland and towns. For a longer trip we will possibly repeat. The host was very nice and discreet. He was very polite and helped us with everything we asked him for.

I gave this property 5 stars because there was nothing to dislike. Very nicely decorated and well equipped little house right in the center of Kirkwall that felt like a home from home. I had my choice of the two bedrooms and opted for the back bedroom which was wonderfully quiet with a comfy bed and choice of pillows. The welcome basket was very generous and the price for two nights was very reasonable. It is surrounded by shops and coffee places. I fully recommend this to anyone as a great option to a hotel.
