During our two-week trip to Georgia, our stay in Mestia at Davit's home became one of the most unforgettable highlights. We were completely charmed by the room with the glass ceiling that opened up to the sky, and although the house was a bit outside the main town of Mestia, we decided to stay there — and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made. It made our Mestia experience feel like a dream. We stayed in that room for two nights and were absolutely happy there, whether the weather was clear or rainy. On rainy days, when hiking wasn't an option, we slept in and enjoyed the peaceful view from our bed. On clear nights, we were lucky enough to lie in bed and count countless stars until we fell asleep. The bed was comfortable, and a small heater kept us warm through the cold mountain nights. As an eco-friendly home, we did occasionally spot small insects like ants, but it never felt uncomfortable — the bathroom was also spotless and clean. Before coming to Mestia, we had mostly stayed in hotels, so we hadn’t had many chances to interact with local Georgians. Staying at Davit’s home gave us a much more intimate and meaningful experience. His family was incredibly kind and welcoming — it truly felt like being at home. We were so grateful to have been a small part of a household spanning four generations, even just for a little while. It was a heartwarming and joyful time. I know that whenever I find myself overwhelmed by the busyness of daily life, I will think back to Davit’s home and the peaceful days we spent there. A stay at Davit's place is not just accommodation — it’s an experience of Georgia itself, a beautiful bridge between people and culture. Travelers who value local traditions and approach others with warmth and respect will undoubtedly love it here. Amazing place, wonder views, communication with the host is very comfortable as she speaks several foreign languages ​​and is very attentive. Cleanliness ("perfect") at the highest level, breakfast is very delicious. I sincerely recommend it and will definitely visit you again, this time for a much longer period. If you want to spend time in the mountains, watch starry sky and Milky Way at night and have all comforts of civilization - this is the place. Cottages are located in a small quiet village on a mountain slope, no other touristic properties nearby. Perfect for stay on your way to Upper Svaneti and for longer digital detox vacation. The place is owned by local family, the owner is very friendly and attentive to details, and speaks English and Russian. Everything about interior is perfectly comfy and organized, from matress and pillows to convenient position of sockets. Food is delicious, you can ask for breakfast, lunch and dinner, both Georgian or simple European dishes. Internet connection (wi-fi and cell) sometimes goes weak, but this is normal for such a secluded mountain spot, and for us was not a problem, because we wanted to switch off.

We loved every moment that we spent here and even decided to return for an additional night. There are multiple rooms to choose from; we stayed both times in the “tree house” which is unique and has a fantastic view. The family that runs the location is generous, loving and extremely hospitable. They do everything in order to make one feel at home. At night, around a bonfire, we sat with the family and other guests as they sang Georgian folk songs and played instruments. It was a unique and unforgettable experience! In addition though it need not be said, the view is incredible and indescribable. One can find true peace staring at the mountains and forests from the lower swings or the upper deck. The homemade food and wine is tasty. And of course the atmosphere makes it even better!
