We’ve been travelling in South and Central America for over five months now and Posada del Cerro is one of the nicest places we stayed at so far. The whole place is super lovely and quiet, nestled on a foresty hill and with a view of the lake from the common area and some bungalows. Our room was super clean and very cozy, with a comfortable bed, desk and chair, lots of light and space to put our belongings. The bathroom was also very nice, with a big shower, and warm water. We had a lovely welcome by Ricardo with Flor de Jamaica drinks and him and Irma were super attentive and helpful. You can order breakfast and dinner in advance and let Irma or Ricardo know when you would like to eat. It will be freshly prepared for you every day. Everything we ate was delicious. We would come again any time!

The location in a natural reserve with a private beach is exceptional. The facilities are very well kept and staff go above and beyond to make your stay in the hotel and experience in Peten a trip to remember. Kevin Guerra from the reception orgsnized fantastic tours for my family, the service providers were excellent.

Very cute bungalow (close to the Peten Lake even though the lake was 1 m above normal tide). We loved talking to the owner, the bungalow was super cozy and pretty (had the one most above) and all seemed very new.

From start to finish our hosts Milvia Pineda and Dethlev Cordts had thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. Fresh coffee, water, washing facilities, kitchen utensils, travel wash were all on hand. Great balcony area with stunning views. They had thought of everything. We decided to stay an extra day as it was so nice! Close to Tikal without the hustle and bustle of Flores. Made us feel like part of the family. On our last night the ladies cooked us fresh fish dinner with a bottle of wine. Great walk nearby at the Biotope. Can't recommend enough! There is a walk up a little hill to get there so bear this in mind! Well worth it for the sunsets swinging in the hammock! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ladies!

Eric and the staff were very accommodating and frequently asked if we needed anything. They also gave information about the area and things to do. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms are very clean, cosy and comfortable. Hotel is located in San Miguel, and you'll need to get a boat transfer everytime you need to go to Flores (10q per person) Although there are a lot of things to do in San Miguel as well. (Beaches, short hikes, excavation sites)
