Very focused, organised, hardworking with a smile on his face. You need anything? He's a call away. Swinford was somewhat of an afterthought for us -- a quick stop so we could visit a friend -- but The Gateway, as well as the Swinford location, ended up being a very pleasant surprise. This is a small hotel but it has an elevator which is a HUGE bonus for travelers tired of lugging bags up and down stairs in smaller Ireland inns. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The manager was very responsive and helpful in getting us an iron and ironing board to prepare dress clothes for our night out. Even though hotel parking is on the street, we had no trouble getting a spot. Swinford itself is a nice central location for exploring nearby towns. Breakfast was included the next morning and was decent.

JUST WOW.!! The property is exactly as described, super clean, super comfortable, hot tub was amazing and Claire was an amazing host! There was snow on the ground the night before we were due to arrive and Claire very nicely asked us if we wanted to change to a different date as the roads were so bad but we went ahead and we were so glad we did! Ballyhaunis town was 12 mins away, closer than castlerea and we had a nice Chinese take away for anyone in the future staying in this property! The peace and tranquility is such a win and under 2hrs from Dublin it was perfect for our family reunion. Thank you Claire, we will 100% be back and we can honestly recommend anyone looking for a lovely house away from the world, book this house!! Keith
