River View Homestay is a great place to stay. It was the best experience staying in this River Front house. It is a traditional old Kerala style tiled house overlooking the beautiful river. The location is unbeatable with a beautiful view of Chithari river, surrounded with mangrove forests and coconut trees in a peaceful village. This place is very well maintained and breeze all time to house. Kitchen is available with cooking gas, stove with all utensils. We cooked food for 2 days and it was good experience. Owner gave the full itinerary to visit nearby places and we watched theyyam, Visited Bekal Fort, Red moon beach and Fishing in the river was the best experiences we had. This is very budget level homestay in entire Kasaragod. We stayed 2 nights and had almost relaxing trip. The warmth and hospitality was really something we are looking forward to visiting again. (~_*)

Felt welcomed from the first minute, Firoz (owner) and the team couldn't do enough for us! Facilities were perfectly clean and to a very high standard. Firoz personally took us to the train station to ensure we got the correct tickets and on the train safely (so many bags). Highly recommended, as its 5 mins walk from Bekal Fort, also!

Ms Sunita the care taker of the property was very helpful. We wanted no onion garlic food which they were able to provide. The stay is remote but beach is 1km from the property. We had nice walk in the early morning.

This is the most wonderful place for a relaxing vacation. Kerala has lush greenery, gorgeous people and is very clean compared to north India. Everything at Neeleshwar is superb: the spacious comfortable villas with private open-air bathrooms, the consistently delicious food at every meal and the attentive chef and waiting staff, the gorgeous beach and pool (swimming at the beach is not always available due to the ocean swell), the fabulous excursions (don't miss the Theyyam temple ceremony and a day on the back waters in the resort boat - you'll be pampered) and the excellent yoga, meditation and spa packages (note that some of the hair treatments contain henna, but the staff are happy to advise you on the best package if you wish to avoid henna). Thank you to all of the amazing staff - you made us feel at home. We miss you and Neeleshwar already.

Great room, loads of space with sea views. The staff went the extra mile constantly, they were friendly and made us feel welcome. We loved the open beachside restaurant and were very happy with the freshness and quality of the food.

Everything was immaculate, the hosts were very accommodating and helpful for arranging rides, suggesting activities and anything else we could possibly need. Vinu was very patient with us even though we often arrived late. Krishna kept the property in order for us and would ask what our plans for the day were, suggesting activities if we weren't sure. The food was fresh every day caught by Shemu and cooked by his wife . She would make us something familiar paired with something new keep our minds and stomachs at ease. They would make us packed lunches for our outings and make sure we arrived at each stop safely.

My wife and I are cycling in India. We had a fabulous stay at Gateway Bekal. We had a balcony room with a lovely view. Super clean and comfortable spacious room. Food at breakfast was excellent. Dinner buffet was excellent. A la carte menu is slightly expensive, but then it is the Taj group so we expect this. Staff everywhere were friendly, helpful and always professional, eager to please us, and responsive to every request we had - very impressive. The site is still being worked on - the spa, and bar are not working, and the Riverside walkway is not smooth. A short autorickshaw ride to Bekal Fort. Overall, a magnificent experience, which will be even better when the hotel is fully functional, and the extensive grounds have been nourished by one monsoon season.
