The guesthouse was spacious and fully equipped, and the bedrooms were laid out beautifully. The property was very close to several excellent restaurants (and a fantastic French patisserie down the back streets), and well situated to explore the local artisan villages. Our host was extremely friendly and very helpful - pointing out the local sites and organising taxis for us. … and we loved the Kotobuki restaurant!… ( recommended by our host)-great food and a wonderful friendly family!

Nice garden and balcony to sit out with a drink. Convenient for food shops. Interesting decoration that reflects the owners personality. We only stayed one night as a stopover on our journey up the coast for which it was exactly what we needed.

The owner Mr Iwase is very accommodating and provided us with all the necessary amenities within the inn itself. There are ample parking lots and our breakfast set is very satisfying too.

The hotel feels very new. Small sized with an excellent onsen. Prime location, close to JR railway station. Young staff, vey willing to help. Tsuruga is a great little harbour, with modern facilities for young and old (Otta bookshop with computer cubicles, Marusan, a great seafood restaurant). The town benefits from the Shinkansen extension but remains very authentic in the harbour areas.

Clean, convenient and the host was delightful. Breakfast was delicious and they gave me onigiri for the road, which they did not need to do.
