Sakaide Grand Hotel is a large hotel near the harbour area of Sakaide. The hotel - as well as most of Sakaide itself - has a bit of Showa-romance felling. The rooms are largend the breakfast is great! There is a public bath on the third floor, but upon arriving you may be given a ticket for the nearby large public bath, where most of the towns people seem to go in the evening.

Everything was perfect: - location is in the very center of the town, 12min walk from train station - employees at reception are very nice and helpful - rooms are clean and cute, as always with Onyado Nono hotels - very good onsen : several hot springs baths, and even 4 private baths onsen rooms - there are available sets of yukata to wear in the hotel - welcome drinks and juices in the lobby are pleasant , as well as free ice creams, yakult and evening ramen - breakfast was excellent and the staff made the effort to change my menu for the 2nd morning (note : there is no western breakfast but this is not an issue for me) - dinner was excellent, the employee did her best to explain the English menu, it was very clear

Spacious room in a ryokan in Kotohira. It is around 5 minutes' walk to the shrine approach with restaurants and shops, with the train stations a little further away. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, the private outdoor onsen was great and the staff are welcoming.

The house was incredibly cozy and had everything you could need during your travels. Naoko was a wonderful host — warm, kind, and exceptionally helpful. Both she and her husband went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, showing a level of care and affection I will always remember. The place was spotlessly clean, fully equipped, and filled with a magical, timeless atmosphere. It truly felt like home.
