Wow, this has been a great experience! The Colonial House Motel is a lovely place, a beautiful garden, nice rooms, filled with hospitality. Owner Mark personally showed us our room, making us feel welcome from the very first second on. The room is equipped with everything an (overseas) tourist needs. In our room there was even a travel adapter power plug. Laundry service is available complete with clothes airers. When we arrived, Mark was working in the garden. Upon arrival he said we came on a good time: time also for a short break from gardening. This was another way we felt very welcome. The owners not just own this place, they live it. They live hospitality. Thanks very much, Mark and Paula. I would highly recommend the Colonial House Motel for anyone travelling in the Kerikeri and Bay of Islands area.

We were met by a wonderful host, who made us feel very welcome and showed us to our apartment, even had a complimentry beverage for us to enjoy. The apartment was laid out beautifully and had everything we needed, it was clean and beds were really comfortable, it was private and looked out onto lovely kept gardens. Location was excellent and close to everything we needed, with lots to do nearby. Highly recommend this property.

We are absolutely thrilled to have discovered a genuine Canadian-style Lodge here in New Zealand! The owners' idea of sharing the history of Yellowstone National Park in the United States with guests was absolutely delightful. The tranquility and beauty of the place are incredible, just like the hosts, Nick and Julie, who took the time to make us feel like we were among friends at home. The cleanliness and design of the spaces are unmatched! The breathtaking views and the vast spaces at your disposal are a real treat for the eyes. The Lodge is located within a private park, with easy walks for everyone to enjoy. The fresh air and the relaxation in front of a real Canadian fireplace complete the day perfectly. The quality/price ratio is truly lower than what the property and the owners themselves offer. Amazing spot just gorgeous and private which is what we wanted with a big family of loud kids 😆 the house is amazing and beautiful I wish we could’ve stayed longer. The amenities within the house were amazing everything we needed was there. Such a nice spot we invited our extended family around for a BBQ room for everyone! Owners attentive and helped with any questions we had.
