I don’t think there are enough words to describe our experience at George Coffee Homestay. It’s a beautiful location in the heart of Taroko, perfect if you want to go visit the national park. The hosts are just the most welcoming and warmest people I’ve ever met. They make you feel like home right away and truly go the extra mile to make sure you having a great time by recommending places to eat, trails, and things to visit. They were so kind and though this was not part of their responsibility, they’ve taken time to introduce us to the town, culture of Taroko people, history, traditions and a little bit of their beautiful and unique family story. We finished the night by making our own lucky bracelets which I personally loved and the highlight of the night was them playing a song that Boya wrote to Lisa about their love story. The room is super nice and big, cozy and very clean. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the best part if of course drinking their own coffee. If you’re looking for a place in Taroko, you don’t want to miss out on George Homestay! :)

We loved staying here so much! The best part, by far, was the kindness and hospitality that Daro and May showed us. They were so warm, thoughtful, and generous. Daro picked us up from the train station long after check in because we missed our first train. May helped us book a tour and gave us lovely recommendations on what to do in the area. Both were joyful and kind, and it’s clear that they have a beautiful life nestled in the mountains there by Taroko. The breakfast was so lovely and homemade, and had lots of variety, with a more traditional Taiwanese offering on one side and a more Western breakfast set up on the other. Our room was huge, so clean and comfortable, and had these gigantic windows that let in the most magnificent light. The B&B was surrounded by a garden around which family pets roamed and countless gorgeous butterflies floated about at all hours. The view is unbeatable - Taroko is right behind you, and you wake up to the sun coming over the mountains in a way that is just breathtaking. Can’t recommend staying here enough. So glad we did this instead of staying in Hualien, which was very reachable by taxi when we wanted to go to the night market, but instead we got to enjoy being five minutes from the park in the most beautiful home with the loveliest people!

Really near Xincheng TRA, like literally visible from the exit. We booked here cos we wanted to have easy access to buses headed to Taroko for our trails. It's quite a distance from xincheng old street (where most of the eateries are) but you'll find a lot of good food if you're willing to walk (10-15mins) towards the stretch near 7-eleven or family mart. STARRY Inn provides breakfast & they try not to repeat depending on the number of days you stay, do let them know of your food restrictions. Staff were extremely helpful and kind! The lady boss even ran to the train platform to catch us when she found my dad's iPod left in the room after our check out!!! So so thankful for their hospitality and kindness!

Sleeping Inn was amazing, loved our stay and would definately recommend. The staff and breakfast were great. Upon learning I was vegetarian they gave me a homemade vegetarian rice roll for breakfast, and this rice roll was one of my highlights from my entire week in taiwan (it was delicious and I couldnt find another rice roll the entire trip that compared). We were just here for a quick stay (as we arrived in the evening and left early morning) but I quite liked the location, walking distance to the huge night market (and on the coast.. which we didnt explore).

Mollie the receptionist made me feel very welcome right away. She recommended a restaurant to me that turned out to be the best Chicago style pizza I've had in Asia. Also, the shower had nice hot water.

Rooms were nice and spacious~ we were a grp of 15pax and my 6pax room has a bunk bed which the kiddos were really excited about~ Mr Wu (the host) was very friendly and patient and attended to our needs as fast as he could~ I loved the special details he put in every room~ e.g. cute theme for my 6pax room which has kids~ Toiletries were well equipped (owner, Mr Wu, has a line of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel which he brought in~ he even provided guest with facial cleanser) 4pax room has bath tub too~ 👍🏻 oh the apartment even has a lift (5 storeys) Kiddos said they love the stairs and space within the whole apartment XD my family and friends really like this place~ there's a cafe just right outside the apartment and 生煎包shop just across! Convenient~ night market is 15-20mins away~ we were walking around looking for food and neighbours actually recommend us this 刀削面 eatery which was yummy! Host also owns a laundry cleaning service shop just outside his apartment, so convenient! Laundry is very clean too!

We had an extremely pleasant and welcoming stay. The hosts were such a warm and friendly couple and their dinner is so sumptuous and yummy. We were caught in the earthquake and we had to stay another day. The hosts took such great care of us and helped us with arrangements to leave Hualien - giving us lifts to the train stations, checking train times and possible routes. I highly recommend staying here.
