Everything was perfect!! What a great place and the value for money is very good (especially comparing to other safaris). Staff is incredibly attentive, well organised and friendly. We felt at home immediately. Rob, our ranger was wonderful and made our time here special - he made us understand that it's not all about the big 5 but showed us so many other amazing animals and plants (even though we did manage to see the big 5). His knowledge is incredible. Every night another ranger had dinner with the group which was also really lovely. We had the best two days!

We had a wonderful experience in Woodbury Lodge. We loved our guide Roxy who is extremely knowledgeable and an outstanding ranger. She was able to show us lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, elephants, all sorts of antilope, monkeys and warthogs. The only animal we didn’t see was a cheetah as they are very rare to spot but Roxy made a huge effort to find it. She had great knowledge on birds and the reserve itself. Her driving skills are excellent! The accommodation itself is wonderful and very clean. Each room has their own terrace overlooking the waterhole where the animals come to drink. Absolutely magical to watch!

The whole experience exceeded our expectations. The food is superb and the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. They went through the trouble of making a separate meal for my partner to accommodate his food allergies. They also went to the trouble of setting up a screen and provided us with snacks to watch the rugby. We also got to see 4 of the Big 5 in one evening!

We loved out time here. Our guide, Jesse, was knowledgeable and ensured we saw all the Big 5. He even managed to insert us into the middle of the elephant herd...they were within touching distance. The Reserve is in magnificent countryside...Africa stretching to the horizon. We loved the little touches - the early morning tea, the coffee and drinks breaks during the game drives, the cold towels to refresh us when we arrived back from our drives - all were wonderful. The elephants coming to drink at the pool at the lodge was the high point of our stay....they stayed for over an hour and Jesse was able to explain to hierarchy of the families under the protection of the Bull elephant....fascinating. The food was fabulous - great variety and all presented in gourmet style. The staff were superb. Renzo and his team work tirelessly to ensure everything is perfect.

Such an authentic experience. The farm has an amazing family history. The game drives with Mali were exceptional. Its not an enormous reserve and very soon we had seen Elephants, Zebra, Giraffe and even a lion. The food is excellent home cooking. The staff really friendly and informative and overall it’s great value for money. This isn’t a high end luxury game experience but an honest and authentic one. I can’t wait to come back!

Lovely “colonial era” feel to this ex-sheep farm that has been in the family for generations. Really relaxing. Attentive staff. Good food. And a family of warthogs trotting about and keeping the lawns in trim.
