We received a warm welcome from Mario. He was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay - on one occasion he arranged an evening meal reservation for us at Rancho Don Luis (they opened up just to accommodate us and the other couple staying at Amazilia). Our room was an adequate size - the wide bed was very comfortable and the shower worked well (though the water wasn't hot). We made very good use of the lovely pool area. The dining area was great and we enjoyed the breakfasts - the cook was also responsible for cleaning the rooms and the property and she did a great job. Amazilia is ideally located for Parque Nacional Rinco de la Vieja - unfortunately, during our stay, the park was closed due to the excessive rainfall Costa Rica had been having. We ate 3 times at nearby Rancho Los Gavilanes - it has a lovely setting by a river.

Immaculate hotel rooms and entire land of the hotel was impeccable. The lookout was unbelievable for sunset watching. Staff were on top of everything and couldn’t do enough - especially Kenneth!

The owners together with one of the most caring team of staff that we have ever seen created a unique atmosphere where you will feel both on vacation and at home at the same time. The food is generally amazing! We loved the rich and tasty breakfast and the lovely staff was always accomodating my husband's vegan lifestyle. Waking up in front of the sea every morning was one of the most amazing experiences. The both vibrating and relaxing town of Sámara is just a 5-10 minutes walk away at the beach, where you can play beach volleyball, go surfing, have a nice smoothie or delicious meal. At night you can also enjoy the beautiful terrace and tasty drinks and food at the hotel's restaurant. We were sad to leave this truly unique pearl at the beach and will surely be back in the future!

Breakfast was good and staff were too.
