My recent stay at Powerscourt Hotel was elevated to new heights, thanks to a truly heartwarming and thoughtful gesture from the manager. Celebrating my birthday during this luxurious retreat was made even more special by the unique touch of personalised attention.
Upon returning to my room after a day of exploring the grounds, I was met with a delightful surprise—a beautifully adorned table featuring a small, delicious birthday cake. The attention to detail was impeccable, and it was evident that the manager had gone above and beyond to make this moment memorable.
It was a delightful treat, and the accompanying birthday card added a warm, personal touch that left a lasting impression.

This little hidden gem absolutely exceeded my expectations. Though at first the price seems high, when you think of what you would get from a travellodge or similar, then paying for extras link breakfast and drinks, there wasn't much difference for our family of four. The location is spectacular and you feel very much in the wild. We stayed for a night to break up a visit with family and as a Christmas treat and what a treat it was. The yurt is toasty warm thanks to the wood pellet stove, though the outdoor toilet in -7 degrees was a bit chilly! There were heated blankets in the beds though we ended up not needing them. The children loved the outdoor space, the fairy doors, whimsical tree house and mud kitchen. What made it so special for us was the view of the night sky, I don't think I have ever seen so many stars and to fall asleep looking at that through the skylight was so special. The hosts have supplied so many home comforts inside the yurt too, hot chocolate and teas and coffee, a box of board games, books and home made ornaments to compliment the space. The microwave and outdoor fire pit BBQ allowed us to cook a lovely meal and then breakfast was superb, continental style with eggs probably from the chickens in the coop nearby! Would I go back? ABSOLUTELY!

The room was so cosy and cute and the bathroom was so fancy. We loved the tea set in our room, the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, many options to choose from. We were upgraded to a suite, which was beautiful. It was ideal as there was plenty of space for a toddler during the day and a separate space at night. The leisure pool was fantastic, a really lovely facility with family changing area.
Location near Glendalough and the major tourist area. Room size for 3 was spot on. Beds very comfortable and super clean. Homemade breakfast by Daphne very tasty and she was so nice cooking pancakes for our baby. The B&B has a lounge area with fireplace and all the comforts to relax. Overall very cosy and family friendly.
I have visited many family friendly hotels in Ireland and this one is right up there. The pool facilities for children are excellent, with the right temperature for kids to not get cold quickly and enjoy their time there. Our little one (3) swam every day. The hotel also manages to exude luxury whilst still remaining attractive to families .. breakfast options were superb.
Staff were very friendly & hotel is ideally suited for families with kids.
Loved the facilities. Beds very comfortably. Very child friendly.
