Gli zii di Sicilia is a very spacious apartment which we would rather call a “Penthouse”. It is fully equipped, quiet and has a street parking lot next to the building. A panoramic view of the Aeolian Islands with plenty of natural light. The hostess, Vanessa, is always one Whatsapp away. The family also runs an online confectionery/pastry business . They also offer us a huge selection of cookies for trial. We ordered Brioche for our breakfast throughout our stay, a pistachio Birthday cake, cookies for takeaway and oranges for juicing. All delivered to our doorstep. The oranges come from their own orchard, right ripeness makes a very different type of juice. The kitchen is well-equipped including a juicer. If one needs organically grown vegetables and fruits such as strawberries, 700m or 10 mins walk, there is a farm shop called “I' Orto Di Masseria”. Opposite, there is Supermercati SISA for drinking water supply or etc. For restaurants, this “Penthouse” is well-located to neighbouring villages i.e Demenna Luogo di Ristoro in San Marco d'Alunzio, which is a beautiful village; Ambrosia osteria contemporanea and La Carrubba Ristorante in Sant'Agata di Militello. Of course, please reserve in advance to secure a table. Sant'Agata di Militello is also known for ecologically grown tree ripped Sicilian mangos, called “Papa Mangos”. The season would be from the end July - November.

We had a very good experience at the Dolmen House. Ramona, the host, was very kind to us. We really appreciate the time spend here. 😊

Friendly townspeople. Close to Argimusco rock formations, hiking trails in the Nebrodi Mountains, in the Bosco di Malabotta. You can see the Northern Saracen Coast from Montalbano Elicona. Excellent accommodations in a fascinating village!

Even if I stayed for just one night, it remind me of my childhood at my village house. It is so nice to wake up and see nature, I was playing with the cats and dogs and fed some chickens 😍 also the host was really friendly. I told her that we didn't had time for the breakfast because we left really early and they made us the breakfast for take away in the evening! I appreciated so much. Thanks!

He gave us fantastic recommendations on what to visit nearby and where to find the best local food – everything he suggested was spot on! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet and authentic Sicilian escape with great hospitality!
