Elena was a wonderful host; she met us, told us where to park and took us to our apartment. Our room had two windows; one overlooked the quaint street, and the other a beautiful view of the mountains. The bed was very comfortable, and the apartment itself was a perfect size for my husband and me. Each morning, we went down one flight of stairs to the kitchen where Antonella was waiting to pamper us with coffee, cappuccino, cornetto, juice, and granola. Besides the Bed & Breakfast, Elena has a restaurant called Rupp Diun. All I can say is W.O.W! We told Elena our food preferences, (I am a vegetarian, for example), and she totally customized the meal that she prepared. Elena has a gift for making you feel like family. We ate at Rupp Diun multiple times because when the food is that good, why go anywhere else! It was fun to meet Elena's family and friends throughout our stay! Full disclosure: my grandmother was born in Colobraro in 1897, and I am on a mission to find out anything I can about my Italian roots. I probably would not have visited Colobraro if not for my grandmother, but what a shame that would have been. Elena and her friend Maria were extremely helpful in guiding me with my search. This beautiful, welcoming hill-top town with the most charming people should be on the bucket list of those that are looking to immerse themselves in Italian culture and history. I hope I am lucky enough to be able to make my way back to this charming city that is filled with townspeople that welcome you with enthusiasm and pride that leaves you with a longing to return. Palias is a lovely family hotel. I had a balcony where I could hear the river Loa and overlook the town. The mountains and river are definitely where to go to stay cool and relaxed in the middle of summer. I enjoyed delicious coffee and pastries for breakfast and had two excellent dinners. I can’t decide If I liked the cod or the gnocchi better! I finished dinner with this amazing pistachio gelato! The host went out of his way to help me and guide me to interesting local spots. He was above and beyond kind, patient, and generous. I can’t wait to tell other New Yorkers about this get away!

There is a small restaurant onsite and the food is out of this world! The owner makes his own wine which was excellent and we made sure to buy some to take away with us. The area around the agriturismo is beautiful and we decided to go white water rafting in Laino Borgo which was definitely worth it- rafting through the canyon was an amazing experience. Our room was cool and we slept very well. Breakfast was also very very good- omelettes, salami, cheese, yoghurt and at least 5 kinds of homemade cake! All in all wonderful and thank you!!
