I had a chance to interact with the friendly water buffaloes, which was both unique and fun—you can even help bathe and feed them! Picking lotus and water lilies in the nearby ponds was a peaceful and beautiful experience, allowing me to fully appreciate the local landscape. I also learned to make “bánh dân gian,” traditional Vietnamese folk cakes, which was a wonderful opportunity to explore the local culture in a hands-on way. The accommodation provides an ATM, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. I could check in early. The friendly staff spoke no English, but they will get you sorted quickly. My room was on the 3rd floor so it was nice and airy. Everything was spotlessly clean and the room had a kettle and fridge, but the balcony was tiny tiny. The bed was comfortable and a little less hard than usual in Vietnam, but not everything was as described on Booking.com, No desk. Nice coffee shop downstairs....and a cute cuddly little dog. Unfortunately the fridge comes off when you take your room key, so after a long day out and about, you come back to warm drinks. Also the drinking water situation is not clearly explained. There were 2 small bottles and 2 baby bottles. The baby bottles are free, but the small bottles cost a whopping 10.000 dong. I didn't know that, and didn't touch the baby bottles, as it's a lot of plastic for not much water. The hotel is in a good location right in town, and within walking distance to the bus station. Very good WiFi.
