Staying at Quinta das Hortênsias was one of the best decisions on this trip. Wonderful environment, a very cozy apartment with a beautiful view, garden, and terrace. I felt comfortable and safe, like at home. Special thanks to the host Viriato for his hospitality, sincerity, and easy communication. It was always a pleasure to chat. My first impression upon arrival - was that this house has a soul, and it was definitely confirmed. I highly recommend it. This apartment was one of the amazing experiences I had in Madeira. I would really love to come back someday. Thank you so much!

A gorgeous little hotel with a ton of character. The history of the family told to us by the charming Diogo added to the experience. The view was gorgeous, the artwork beautifully curated, the breakfast was fantastic and visiting the chickens, goats and the sweetest cat all added to a lovely experience.

A good location for a relaxing stay in Funchal, Quinta Devónia by An Island Apart is a farm stay surrounded by views of the garden.

The is second time we rent one of theese 3 small houses. Its like staying alone in a botancal garden. The view is stunning. The houses are charming. Bus no 29 have stop nearby and a we enjoyed the fragrance of the surronding ecualyptusforest while waiting for the bus to downtown. We returned in the evening with a 10euro Bolt taxi. It was using very steep narrow roads, as google map suggested.... We have stayed at numerous places on this island, but this is a clear winner. We rent here next time too. We prefer the two bedroom house, best view there.

In short, Best stay ever. It's like having your private valley, far away from the mass tourism. Carlos is a great host, has lots of stories to share and is also a great source of places to visit. The breakfast is massive, whith something new every day. If you like to be a bit off the beaten track, you will love this.

The property was so incredibly beautiful!!! Amazing view from balcony,perfect for morning yoga and coffee . Apartment very stylish and cozy. We was so thankful for the space where we can relax after long hikes. Inside you can find everything what you need and much more! The location is perfect for hiking. Very close to Pico Areiro and other Levada trials. Very quiet house. Owners very friendly, they welcomed us with fresh fruits from them garden and with homemade biscuits. Highly recommended! We definitely want to come back because is worth it! Thank you for everything!

This cozy apartment went beyond our expectations. It had all that was necessary other than being equipped with peculiar furniture. We really loved the peaceful atmosphere of the small town of São Vicente. The apartment also has a pool and an outside space immersed in the nature. Leonel has been very helpful providing all the information needed and giving us interesting tips for visiting the area, and was very kind as well to give us a taste of his Madeira wine. Very recommended 😊
