We spent 8 nights at the Nature Camp. The camp has a few rooms (although it is growing!), some of them are tree houses. Harrison (the owner) has built the houses by himself! The rooms are simple but they have everything you need to spend some days living in a slow living environment, very well integrated with nature. Harrison has put a lot of love into creating an accommodation with a very good vibe. Harrison is the friendliest person ever and he is always trying to help the guests. And both the rest of hist team and the guests were really nice people too. We enjoyed a lot the food! It was very fresh and incredibly delicious! The breakfast was delicious and different everyday. So, Nature Camp is a great place to enjoy and discover coastal Kenyan food. Don't miss the delicious dinners that they offer with fresh grilled fish! They offer plenty of activities for learning their local culture, including amazing cooking lessons or a canoe trip in the mangrove with the amazing Captain Daniel. In addition, we went one day to an elephant point at the sunset and we spent other day in Watamu to do a snorkeling trip on a boat. We get these places using boda-boda (motorbike). Or you can enjoy your time just chilling and relaxing in a hammock. The area is quiet and surrounded by nature. Mida Creek can be reached in 5 minutes by walking, a perfect place to take a relaxing swim surrounded by birds and flamingos (check the tide!) or walk along the mangrove. The village center is also very close and there are some basic services like a small store (you can buy bottled water, some fruit and snacks) or transportation (matatu or boda-boda). You can enjoy a couple of local pubs and be part of its nightlife. A great place to drink palm wine, listen to reggae music and meet local people. You can get to Mida easily using a matatu (local buses) from Mombasa (from Buxton station) in just 2 hours. We had such a good time there that I am sure that we will come back to Mida Creek soon!
