My wife and I stayed at Borthwnog Hall as part of our drive from Bath, around Wales, and to Oxford. It can be thought of as an adjunct to a country home, located in a beautiful site overlooking an estuary. Our room boasted a balcony, and the view was great. Housekeeping was excellent, the staff was helpful, breakfast was fine and parking was free. This is not, it should be said, a place to stay if you want to be able to walk to bars, clubs and restaurants. It's a country venue, after all. But there's a good pub/restaurant visible and accessible by bridge a short drive away, and the nice beach town of Barmouth isn't far.

Caroline and Kevin were very welcoming and attentive. The guest house and amenities were immaculate. A great breakfast was also provided to order, which set us up nicely for an active day of biking.

The staff were very friendly and attentive ensuring that guests felt at home and ensuring that our needs were met at all times. The deluxe single room was lovely with an incredible large private bathroom outside the bedroom, the bed was extremely comfortable and the views over the bay were just to die for making this without a shadow of a doubt the best single room for solo travellers that I have come accross so far on my travels around the UK (and I travel alone a lot for work and leisure to lots of different places so this really says something). The room was refreshed daily with hot drink supplies and bin changes (which disappointingly not that many places do these days), the breakfast was amazing made with high quality produce, the garden area is vibrant, horticulturally interesting and immaculately kept with seating and tables outside and the interior of the B&B is unique and full of character which makes it stand out from the rest. I highly recommend Bluebells Guest House and can't thank the staff enough for their hospitality. I will return.
