The host was incredibly kind, be sure to ask him for restaurants and onsen recommendations! The facility itself was homely and very pleasant, quiet too. This guesthouse has been tastefully renovated to retain all its olde worlde charm. The charming surroundings are complimented by your hosts, an older couple who have lovingly restored this beautiful building. The hosts were kind and there is a sento/onsen just in front of the house, where the hosts advise us to go at our arrival and it was very relaxing. The house is situated at about 15-20 min walk from the Beppu station, along the river in a very nice neighborhood.Guest review byallisonYoung couple

The daughter of the owners kindly welcomed me with tea and a snack! :) I advise to bring ear plugs, because old Japanese houses like this one are not sound insulated.
