Yamamoto-San is very gracious & hospitable. He prepared a private hot bath for us which was a pleasant surprise. the place is exceptionally clean with a homely feel. Delicious Japanese breakfast set was by meticulously prepared by Yamamoto-San & his wife. We enjoyed our stay. It is recommended that u have a car to reach Pension Sakuraya to enjoy the stay thoroughly

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful place with an amazing view. The rooms were lovely, well-equipped, and just a 10-minute walk from the beach. Stayed for a couple of days and nights. The room my partner and I stayed in was a good size for the two of us, also had a sink just outside of the room to brush our teeth, which was great and a window to look out at the mountains. Bus stop right outside for easy transport to and from the shops. 10 min walk to the train station as well. Best part of the whole stay was the two incredible hosts. Even with the slight language barrier, they made us feel at home, helped if we needed it, made sure we were warm when eating, recommended spots to explore, and even drove us downtown. Can't thank them enough! I'd stay again and recommend them to anyone looking for a place in the area.

The house is very cozy and clean. The view is great (you can see beautiful sunsets from the terrace) and it is a good place to relax. The manager (Mika) is awesome, she is all good vibes and tries hard you to be comfortable.

Lovely host family, everything was always super clean, enough toilets and showers (since everything is shared I think that's an important thing to mention), kitchen has everything you need, common room feels nice and cozy, dorm has enough space for everyone to keep their stuff and beds were comfy :)

Excellent location - right next to the Sakura tunnel. You can enjoy it at night and slowly make your way back to the station the next day. It's a Japanese style house so it is very cosy and calming. The cat is also adorable and friendly (though you can't normally touch him) There is air conditioning and we also got a big hot water bottle and it was amazing to cuddle it at night! There was also some spring water(?) available to drink. The owner is able to explain all amenities in English so I didn't have to turn on my Japanese speaking part of my brain. She also gave some recommendations on where to go. Asami is an excellent host 👍 I wish i could come here again.
