The couple that hosted were amazing, very welcoming and kind. The breakfast that is included was excellent with omelette and fruit and yogurt and juice and toast and local Sri Lankan breakfast stuff and pot of tea or coffee. The bed was large with its own mosquito net and the sheets were good quality and clean, and the pillows were good and the bed was comfortable. The shower was excellent and enclosed with its own prospect store, but it was a large area that was enclosed. The bathroom was a good size.

Great apartments right on the river. Comfortable and spotlessly clean. Amazing western or Sri Lankan breakfast. Superb hosts very friendly and welcoming. Easy walking distance to beach and resteraunts. The accomodation has its own tuk tuk to take you and bring you back free of charge if you don't want to walk. Highly recommended.

Villa River View is in an excellent location and gorgeous view of the river which makes it a peaceful retreat . The home is very welcoming and kept in pristine condition by Viraj and his lovely family. I would highly recommend staying at Villa River View as I had great advice on the local area and what to see in this beautiful part of Sri Lanka which I would have not found out as a solo traveller .

After 3 weeks travelling around Sri Lanka this was the best place we stayed. Lovely large room, air conditioning, fridge, hot water and a nice balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. But best of all was the warm welcome from Rathna, Chitra and the family. They really made us feel at home and looked after us. Chitra's breakfasts are amazing, something different everyday, and the dinner we had was delicious and wonderful value. Rathna is really helpful and can organise all of the tours. We stayed 6 nights and had a great time, lovely beaches and river cruises nearby, and I was lucky enough to see the incredible Perahera on the Saturday night! I will be back one day!

We had the pleasure of staying here for two days, and it was absolutely fantastic. It has been our best experience during our four weeks around Sri Lanka. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast is incredibly delicious and fresh. The hosts are the sweetest and extremely helpful with everything! The hotel is centrally located and only a short walk from the beach. It has definitely been the loveliest place to stay, and we wish we had stayed for more days. We have stayed at various places during our trip, where we have also stayed at four-star and five-star hotels, but none of them could compare to this place. In addition, their wifi is excellent, and it was the fastest and best we experienced during our tour of the country. Everything has been fantastic, and a special thanks to the sweetest hosts. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Sri Lanka, and we highly recommend others to stay here. You won't regret it.

We've spent our first days of our trip here and it couldn't have started better. Nelson, Alexandra and their amazing team made us feel like at home. Their mentality that you come as a guest and leave as a friend is really shown in everything they do. Beautiful setting, delicious breakfast and dinners and above all the passion and kindness that we've got by everyone at La Perla left us speechless. We will be back. Best accommodation in Sri Lanka on our trip. Anton still talks about the coconuts :-)

It was easy to find Shana. Host lady told me that she had a problem with electricity and took me to her sister's house called Bimal Villa which was 2 minutes walking distance. So my comments here are for Bimal Villa. Bimal Villa is run by a sweet lady and her daughter. The room was big, light and spotless. Had a a very good working A/C and fan. Ensuite bathroom. Internet worked very well. Location was behind the railways which I thought would be noisy but it was not. Very close to the beach, 2 mins walking. Breakfast served on the balcony and it was very tasty with fresh fruits, fruit juice, eggs, coconut milk rice and tea/coffee. The owner runs a small restaurant closeby the accomodation where locals come and eat. I had lunch there and it was so yummy. Bimal Villa cannot be seen on booking dot com currently due to a technical issue which the daughter was trying to sort out while i was there. Shana Sri Villa's son spoke very good English and he took me to exchane money, to an ayurvedic shop and to a massage place with his tuk tuk free of charge. He also organised my taxi to the airport for a fair price. So, overall I cannot talk much about Shana Sri Villa but only for Bimal Villa. This is a place i would come back to stay longer if I am ever in the region again.
