This property was located close to town and all the restaurants as well as the most wonderful little swim beach! Kevin was an incredible host and the rooms were large and clean! As we traveled out of season breakfast wasn’t provided, but we were able to use the kitchen to make ourselves meals. Highly recommend this property!

The host is the best guy, very accommodating, happy, lovely, genuine and nothing is ever too much to ask. He helped organise surf boards for us and provided us with many excellent local recommendations. The location is incredible, very close to the beach (where you can also surf) and all the restaurants and shops. The homestay is peaceful and homely with a lovely outdoor area. Breakfast is amazing and different every morning which is really appreciated. He offers food for lunch and dinner which we had and it was delicious and a great opportunity to try genuine local food. He also provides a tuktuk for hire and excellent laundry service for great value. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable with a large fan. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, it has been the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka and we cannot wait to return to stay here in the future.

We had the most amazing 11 nights at Upali and wish we didn’t have to leave! The wonderful staff are so kind, welcoming and helpful with everything - they definitely make the place what it is. A big thank you to Nilu and Anujen!! The location is incredible and we think the best you can get in Arugum, right in front of the main surf break and a 10 min walk into town. We loved being a little away from the busy town! We stayed in two different bungalows and both were beautiful. One was a little larger which was nice and the other looked directly out to the surf which was also amazing!! All of the bungalows are steps away to the ocean and surrounded by palm trees. Thank you so much, we can’t wait to come back!!

Was a bit sceptical about the place because of a very few reviews, but they are newly open and it's a really good place to stay in Arugambay. Booked 1 night, but stayed for 2 more. The place is near main street, but not too close so it's not too noisy. The room I had is basic, but with everything you need for a short or longer stay. They even allow you to use their kitchen to keep and cook food if you like to. Breakfast is common Sri Lankan dishes, but is tasty and plentiful. Guys working here are cool and will help you with anything you need. Enjoyed my stay!

Awesome. My partner and I stayed here for over a week and we absolutely loved it. We didn’t want to leave. It’s in the perfect location of Arugam bay (which can be noisy at night) about a 10 minute walk to main point for the surf, it’s directly on the beach that has beach beds and it’s only a small stroll into the heart of the town. The individual cabanas are fantastic they have all you need with plenty of fans and space and are bright and colourful. They staff are very friendly and helpful and always up for having a chat and breakfast is delicious. Loved the whole experience would definitely tell everyone to come stay here and can’t wait to go back.

slept in the private room without air conditioning, a nice hut with all amenities. The wind blows well, nice place, lots of shade and seating areas. Wifi is good. Owner and people who work there are very friendly! On the beach, a little outside the center but easy to walk (even in the night ). I would definitely recommend this place!

Room was excellent and although not one of their apartments, the beds were comfy and the room was well clean. I have breakfast for 8 dollars and that got me well through the day as it is rather copious.
