What you see is what you get and that is great! Simple straightforward rooms in a nice and quite street close to all the beautifull squares. The manager is a wonderfully kind man who speaks perfect English, we stayed two nights more because we liked it so much. Good hot shower and everything is very clean.

I can’t recommend Shekhar’s Shared Home enough. Shekhar, the owner, goes above and beyond to ensure you have a full experience of Bhaktapur. He personally guides his guests, free of charge, through the winding alleys of the historic city, revealing the hidden gems of the area and introducing them to local delicacies. His guesthouse also has a welcoming atmosphere that truly feels like home. In the evenings, the living room transforms into a gathering spot where travelers from all over connect and share stories. If you’re traveling alone or want to experience Bhaktapur from a local’s perspective, Shekhar’s Shared Home is the perfect place.

Very clean, beautiful rooms. The bathroom and shower were very nice. The hotel is in a great location. Breakfast is delicious and has a wonderful view. The staff is also extremely helpful.

The guesthouse is in a perfect location, close to the Nyatapola Temple. You can spend extra time visiting Bhaktapur old town at night or early in the morning. The guesthouse staff were really friendly and flexible. In the morning, heavy rain struck, so we moved from the rooftop to our room to have breakfast. The breakfast was simple but really tasty. The room was spacious and had a traditional wood-carved window, which provided a nice atmosphere. Through the window, the view of the surrounding street felt authentic. We really enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse!

The hotel is on the edge of Bhaktapur Durbar Square, and our room looked directly out to the old palace and temples. Our view was gorgeous. When we wanted to go exploring, we could just step out of the hotel and everything was walking distance. The staff were extremely helpful. In fact, there was a glitch in the Booking.com app where our itinerary, inexplicably, did not match the hotel's. We got a bit anxious and stubborn because we had transcribed our intinerary based on our trip listings in the Booking app. But the owner very patiently asked us to sit down and figure it out, and we were humbled to find that our schedule was mixed up. We were able to sort it all out, because we were taking a side trip to stay outside of town for a night, returning to stay at Shiva House again. Shiva House stored our luggage while we were away. Also, the food in the restaurant is excellent. *There is a restaurant right next door as well, with a beautiful garden courtyard, worth checking out. We hired Myla (not sure of the spelling) to drive us to many sites, which was a great help. Everything is easy walking distance from Shiva House, and we loved that we could walk back and take a break at any time.

The location is fabulous. Bhaktapur is so much more laid back than Katmandu and cars are not allowed in the world heritage site squares which is a real plus. Deebesh the guest house manager is a great guy who went out of his way to accommodate our vegan sister. I love Bhaktapur yogurt and he served it to me everyday. You will not be able to find a better monetary deal. We will return!
