A lovely, family-owned guesthouse with a truly welcoming atmosphere. I stayed here the day before starting the Berliner Höhenweg, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and cozy, with a balcony offering beautiful mountain views. Quiet location, yet close to everything in Mayrhofen. Perfect for relaxing before or after days on the trails. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely room, lovely breakfast, stunning location and Christian the owner was brilliant. We used the Gasthof Schontal as a base for travelling to and from Kitzbuhel for a days skiing and the Hahnenkahm races. A half hour drive takes you to Kirchberg in Tyrol where there is free parking and a free shuttle train which takes you into Kitzbuhel itself. Perfect

The staff was super. The room was large with a very comfortable bed and great seating area. The shower area was modern. Everything was very clean. It is conveniently located in the center of town. Breakfast was good too.

I received such a warm welcome from the owners it was really a great start. The room was a whole apartment and had everything I could need. In addition, it had a winter garden and a summer garden. Both were comfortable, beautiful and so fantastic for the mix of weather we had while I was there. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of options. I took my dog with me and upon entering the room there was a welcome bed and two dog bowls for my pet. It felt so good that he was as welcome as I was! I really had an amazing stay, and would recommend it to anyone going to this area. I plan to go back!
