Overall, we had a great experience at Rioja's San Asencio. We will return!!

The bed was big,comfortable and had both hard and soft pillows. I appreciated the welcoming gifts: 2 bottles of water in the fridge, coffee, tea,pastries, nuts. Nice touch. The shower was great.Good waterpressure, modern shower. Shampoo and shower gel provided. Everything top clean. Yolanda was on site and welcomed me warmly. ( self checkin normally) For me, as a pilgrim it was a blessing. Great location. Definitely great value.

Possibly the cleanest accommodation we've been in thus far in Spain. You can smell the cleanliness the moment you open the front door. For us, the firmness of the beds and pillows were IDEAL!! We were exhausted from our Camino hike and we had the best sleep here. We were so impressed with how the proprietor managed to renovate the plumbing in this old building in a way where there is completely ZERO smells. (We've stayed in many places in the world from super high-end to basic accommodations and even the best of them may give off a touch of plumbing-related odor in bathroom). Furthermore, the rooms are quite literally soundproof and dark at night so it really helped with the much needed deep sleep before another long hike the next day.
