I wanted a place where I could be lazy and walk on a long stretch of beach without a lot of people. I got just that being ay Maraui becah. My walk to the beach was a minute. Learning about the fishing protocols was worth the stay too. But what it made it even more special was staying at Telma;s homestay. Telma and Martin were welcoming right away, and their hospitality went beyond a what you could expect from a homestay. I really did not want to leave. It was one of the best homestay’s I have stayed at. Every night I had their home cooked meal and they catered to my request of hot water daily and my addiction to her “just right” masala tea. Which I had to have twice a day. I loved getting to sit outside to eat my breakfast and dinner on the terrace. Their welcoming smiles and commitment to wanting you to be happy was exceptional. I was on my own so being around Telma and Martin felt like “home” and isn’t that what homestays should feel like. Cleanliness in the room and outside was perfection. I highly recommend staying here. I miss them already. Thank you again for everything Telma and Martin!

I had a very nice stay at Babu's Homestay at the end of February 2024 with an excellent price-performance ratio. The house and the room I stayed in were very clean and nicely decorated, the bathroom had a shower with hot water and plenty of water pressure. The hosts were very helpful, the breakfast was very good and filling, the evening meal that I was able to enjoy was the best dinner of my stay in Kerala. Babu is also a tuk-tuk driver and organizes rides at a fair price. Since I already bought a SIM card at the airport, I didn't use the WiFi there and can't say anything about it. The path to the clean, sandy beach is very short, when I was there the beach had some distance to the fishing boats on the left and right, and there were loungers with parasols for rent. There were also a few beach cafes nearby, but compared to Varkala Beach, where I was before, it is very quiet and the bars close well before midnight. The water is not flat and the waves can be very strong, so caution is advised. The water is very warm, as is to be expected on a tropical beach. All in all, I spent a few wonderful days in Marari Beach.

The room and bed size were sufficiently comfortable for our party of 2 adults and 3 children during our six-night stay. This location is highly suitable for families with kids, as it offers ample space for recreational activities, immediate proximity to the beach, and delectable dining options. Furthermore, the proprietors of the beachfront villa, a warm and accommodating family, provided invaluable assistance throughout our stay. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking accommodations in Mararikulam.

Owner family were very warm and welcoming,and they helped me arrange a shikara boat trip.Location excellent and quiet,the room is clean, and there is a bird sanctuary nearby. I woke up to the singing of birds in the morning. It was a very friendly place to stay like home. You can ask them for activities and they will try their best to help you arrange them. The food is excellent delicious.

This is such a beautiful and unique place to stay! Wake up to see the sun rising over the backwaters. The owner and staff are so kind, friendly and helpful. I came with 6 of my Yoga students as part of a tour of Kerala and everyone loved it here. They also cooked dinner and breakfast for us which was so delicious! You could taste the love in the food. The owner Shanavas helped me book a houseboat months in advance which turned out great! I highly recommend this quiet and tranquil place!

Very beautiful place. The family is really welcoming and kind. They organised a boat ride and breakfast for me. Also the view from the balcony is directly on the backwaters where you can see kingfisher and other birds. Very beautiful. The room is very comfortable. Also the dog is super cute and was always ready for a cuddle. Definitely would stay again if i come back
